I was planning to do a full rs interior swap to get rid of my awful beige interior in my 1996 L. I then realized that the wiring was just to much. Would it work to do a full rs swap (engine, transmission, interior, wiring etc) into my L? Would it just be plug and play?

If you completely swap everything from an RS into your car it will all be plug and play. It's a massive amount of work and so much easier to just sell your car and buy a 2.5RS.
