I hear you, but I could really use them - and by mid-month March, as I have a race on the 17th and have no rims for my racing tires.

What's your ZIP code?

I can get an estimate (because I know what they weigh) which would save you a trip to the store. :D

Okay, I got an estimate from Mail Boxes Etc., and they said that with the box, the shipping is *roughly* $17 per wheel.

So that's about $80 in shipping and boxes, on top of $350, which totals $430.

You up for it? I'm very interested... Please? :D

Well, that was a quote via UPS, through Mail Boxes Etc. Basically, you should be able to take the rims down to the store, buy four boxes, and drop them in, and send them off.

Oops! I just realized, you said they have the tires, too. Drat! That shipping quote will be wrong, I just priced the rims!!!

Can you do me a favor - can you take one of them and weigh it on a scale? And if you have a tape measure, meaure the height, also? That will make a difference in shipping.

Basically, I need to know the weight, dimensions, and ZIP code to get a quote. I looked up Glendale, CA, and used 91202 or something like that to get the quote over the phone. :D

Actually, that timing wil be good, because I am waiting on a credit card to come in the mail, and it'll probably be a few days to get here.

You know, I was thinking, if those tires are really heavy they might cost me a lot in shipping - more than they are worth. If it comes down to the shipping being a lot more, would you be open to the possibility of me paying to have them removed from the rims (probably like $20-$40 at a local tire shop) and then just keeping the tires? I'll still pay the $350 for the rims, and the shipping of course, but then you could sell the tires locally which might save me some $$$ on shipping.

I'll try and find out how much the tires weigh right now, so I can figure it out.

Okay, tires weigh 25 pounds, rims weigh 16.5, so that's about 42 pounds each. Tire is 25" diameter, 8.5" width, so shipping is approximately $31 each.

I'll go ahead and do that because it would cost more to remove the tires than to keep them as spares!

So $31 x 4 = $124, add to price of rims, and we get $474. So how does $475 sound to you?

Take them to Mail Boxes Etc., buy four boxes, drop them in and tape them up, send them UPS and we're good to go. :D

Again, I'll have my credit card in a few days and I can just payPal you. Does that work for you?

Lots of people use PayPal for buying things, especially on sites like eBay and smaller vendors sites.

PayPal is like an online payment service for individuals. You sign up, give them your checking account or credit card number, and then you can make and recieve payments online to anyone else with a PayPal account. It's handy for this kind of situation - A person wants to use a credit card to protect themselves (in the event of non-delivery), and the seller doesn't have a merchant account (so I can't just pay you directly), so instead I go through PayPal.

Example: I would go to www.PayPal.com, log in, click "Make a payment", put in your account info (which is your email address), the amount I wanted to give you, and some other info, a message, and click send. The money is taken from my account and put in yours. Then you can transfer the money to your checking or credit card account (which ever you set up), and send the wheels out. The PayPal transaction itself only takes a few minutes.

I personally only use my credit card online, not my checking account, because I personally feel more secure that way.

Does that work for you? Let me know your thoughts.

Please do. I am very interested, because I am tired of getting beaten by Volkkswagens with good tires. And it's going to snow like 2 feet tonight so I can't have me RE-730's as daily drivers around here.

Man, I miss California... :(
