do yourself a favor. Take rt 100 up to the middle of vt then drive rt 17. but don't do 17 in the winter. Trust me. I met up with a guard rail in the summer

If you're ever on Cape Cod, and happen to be in Truro check out some of the back roads. There are some nicely paved roads rarely travelled this time of year. Also, someone I work with has some dirt roads/paths he tries to get me to try out too.

Any road out off of 495 by Stowe. Barely any cops and lots of turns
