I just got a set of SP Sport 5000's and they are much better in the snow than my RE-730's... and they do great Scoobnuts... but other than that I have not raced on them so I can't tell which are better...

The A2 replaces the D60 A2. It's a decent all season tire but it isn't really a performance tire.

[sarcasm] No kidding? Summer tire's are no good in the snow, I'd never have guessed [/sarcasm]

Gimme a break, Pilot, I've never lived anywhere with snow before, so I was just clueless! So this California boy is basically saying I have no clue and you probably should not listen to me anyway.

However, I did go to tirerack.com and review their data there which was what influenced my decision. Plus, the local shop carried them. Good luck!

Sorry RS25 you left the door open for that one and I had to take the opportunity, it was just too good to pass up. :biggest:

Meebs,
Between the 5000 and the A2 the 5000 is the better tire, it uses a much grippier rubber compound. Which is the reason that it has no treadwear warranty where the A2 has (I think) a 50000 mile treadlife warranty.

I've recommended the SP5000 numerous times before because it is a good tire. And as you may know I nearly always recommend dedicated summer and winter tires as opposed to all-season tires.
