This is what the v4 clusters look like. I'm pretty sure someone sold you a v5/6 cluster by mistake.

All fuses are good. Just to clarify, you DID need to re-pin for your EDM cluster, correct? I have not re-pinned mine as JDM Gary informed me that the cluster was plug and play.

Looking at the two of our clusters, they look nearly identical, other than yours being an STi variant (mine is not STi)

Edit: Or are you saying because the speedo/tach are moved?

Yep, I had to repin mine. I believe you'll still have to repin yours.

Ok so i bought a v4 sti cluster for my 98rs. I followed the repin guide on the 1st page. Everything works great except its reading kpm not mph. There is a mph sticker on the cluster. I read the thread and I didnt see a straight answer on how to fix it or Im dumb either way can someone help me out?

It should read kph. Just get good at math while driving, and you'll be ok. I go by this 50=30 so 100=60 every 10kph=6mph so every 5kph=3mph..there easy!

You can buy a converter to wire in to convert it. Yours has a MPH sticker becuase thats what they do in the UK, you just usually dont get the converter when you buy the cluster

Subaru Impreza Km/h to MPH Speedo Converter

I just made a cheat sheet and put in by my cluster until I learned to do the math in my head.

OK I guess I'm OK with kph. Most of the time I'm in traffic anyway. But what does the trip read mph or kph? I notice on the way home it was moving pretty quick.

Odometer is also in kilometers, but hey. Oil changes are now a nice even 5,000 km instead of that pesky odd 3,000mi though!

I read through this whole thread because I haven't seen a clear answer for this question:

Which clusters will work in a 98rs beyond the v4 sti/non sti cluster?

I bought a v4 cluster from JDMgary that is has the MPH sticker, and is non STI so it mist be a wrx.

http://www.rs25.com/forums/f176/t215608-v4-cluster-speedo-centered-tach.html

Just to confirm what I need to do to make it work:
1. Repin using the instructions in the first post (going to buy a harness through Subaru)
2. Since the cluster doesn't have a converter, even though it says MPH I will need to wire one in as well
3. Get mileage matched to car through Tacoma speedometer

Am I missing anything? Looking forward to white faced gauges!

I'd appreciate the photos from post #1 as well, it doesn't make sense without them? Or maybe I am missing something.

Trying to adapt a V4 STI harness with a facelift cluster from a NA.

I'm going to bring this back from the dead, sorry, but it is the most closely related thread to my issue.

I purchased a Ver 4 cluster with DCCD by mistake when I needed a Ver 5/6 and now I need to verify it's functionality before I sell it. I have seen jdm importers use a 12V wall adapter to bring power to the gauges to verify lights but they only have them for Ver 5/6 and up. Has anybody created this for a Ver.4 and if so, what wires do I need to hook up?

I have used the wiring pinouts on page 2 to find the illumination circuit to be A13 and C1 but I need to know which wires need to receive 12V to power on the odometer. I imagine it's the ignition circuit that needs to receive power as well as a general power and ground.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.
