I have a 01 RS. So recently my dashlights and console lights dont work when I turn on my lights!

My speedometer lights are all out (but the clock), my gauges work fine. Also my console lights are out too, (AC, Heat, etc.), but my radio works fine,which is aftermarket.

I am working with a tech at work and we are both puzzled.

Things I have done....
-Replaced the Illumination fuse
-Replaced the turn signal this also has the dimmer switch on it.

We think it might be illumination module under the glove box.

Any ideas?!! help!

I was about to suggest the illumination control module in the passenger footwell!

Not sure how it could have burnt out though. I haven't seen it happen before.

Illumination control module for sure. I had the exact problem. Mine was behind my stereo but that was a 96. It's a cheap part if you can find them used or at a junkyard

So I replaced the illumination module on the passenger side, still no lights!

Do you hear the relay clicking when you turn the lights on? I'm assuming the switch on the stalk does nothing, what about the switch on the steering column cover? Ill have to read back; but no lights work? Exterior or cluster?

I have already replaced the turn signal switch where the dimmer switch is. My cluster and center console lights do not work but all the other lights work great! I need to check to see if my relay switch clicks, i have listened for it.

wellllllllllllllllllllllllll put it through the shop today at work and still couldn't find the problem. fucking sucks...they are gonna try again monday

Its gotta be something stupid. Like a ground wire/ corroroded ring terminal. Its always something stupid...

No I never found the problem...sold the car with the problem.
