OK, I did a search and found that alot of guys cut the upper radiator hose and put the temp sensor there. There has to be somewhere on the block that can be tapped!!!! Cutting my radiator hose doesn't seem like a great idea to me. I noticed a large allen bolt on the bottom front of the block that I think is a coolent passage. I'm gonna measure the threads, and try to make an adapter to fit my sensor there. Any ideas, tips, or sugestions?? Thanks.

The only problem with the bolt is that the coolant flow probably isn't as good there as it would be in the hose, so you won't get as true a temp reading. Plus, the hose will give you the best reading because of the flow giving a constant update to the temperature. Cutting the hose shouldn't be a problem, just use the right hardware and seal it up with some good clamps, and you're good to go.

There is another spot that a sensor could be mounted but it is a real pain to get to. There is small plug in the aluminum coolant line (not to sure what it would be called). It is under the left/passenger side intake manifold. I'm not sure I'd ever be able to get a picture of it because it's so damned close to the block or buried very well. But the size looks right to accept an 1/8"NPT fitting. I also believe the stock sensor is pain to get to as well. I'm gonna give up and go the radiator hose route.

If the sensor that you want to use can be removed from the 1/8 NPT fitting try using JB Weld and bond it directly to the upper heater hose block fitting just below the where the hose attaches. Use a stanless steel brush to rough up the surface and clean with alcohol before you bond it. I'd do it with the system warm...it will cure faster. This area is easy to get to and will provide a reasonable place to get a good temp reading. There may be another place on top of the block but I think the intake has to be pulled to get to it.
