Clutch and Flywheel install on Saturday

Hey, who wants to come to Asheville Saturday and help Scooby South, Pleiades and I put a new clutch and flywheel in my car???

No not really, I didn't really expect anyone else, but I thought if anyone was in the area and wanted to hang out with three guys getting in over their heads....

How long did it take you guys? It took me and 3 other guys about 10 hours to do, but we had some issues with the clutch fitting on the flywheel, and also installed engine and tranny mounts.

If we could have gotten ahold of a Tranny mount today, we would have put it in, and probably engine too. The whole job took us about 5 and a half hours with an hour mixed in where we were taking a brake, or eating breakfast or something like that.

Actually, it is probably good that we didn't put engine mounts in because that would have made the reinstallation of the tranny more difficult.

Well, there was a point when we were holding the whole damn transmission over our heads.

Ok, so two guys had done it before, and I had no clue, but it went well, and I owe them my first born. I hope Ebeth doesn't mind giving up the twins whenever they come.

You didn't read the other thread about the Fidenza flywheel? We finished in just under 5.5 hrs, including breakfast and smoke brakes.

I wanted to know what kind of clutch it was but then I realized it's prolly a set...ahh but then I thought to myself there's not alot of sets out there that I've seen so that the question.

It wasn't stupid Angel. I got an ISR Performance clutch disk. It is designed to be used with the stock pressure plate, but still hold up to 300 HP. OF course the flywheel is a Fidanza racing flywheel, and it weighs a feathery 9.3 lbs. No I wouldn't recommend it to just everyone, it is a bitch to city drive, and is temperamental as hell, but damn it revs QUICK.
