So I'm pretty sure my master cylinder in my RS leaks, so I'm planning to replace it. I figure it's a good time to go ahead and replace the slave as well, since i'll have it apart, it's cheap, and mine squeaks like a stuck pig. Anyhow. Since I'm pulling both cylinders, I figured I may as well do the line, make the whole thing nice, shiny, and new.

Now, I notice there's a hard pipe involved between them as well as the flex hose. Does this hard pipe serve any real purpose? Is there any good reason to not just replace it with a flex hose for the entire length of the run?

I'm always fairly confident in dealing with these 100k+ subaru hard line flare nuts that I'll break one off or round one off, and I'd honestly rather not re-flare it.

Good question. I honestly see no reason why not. An AN fitting, some stainless hose and a banjo fitting should be all you need to complete the circuit.

Anyone have a compelling argument against this?

The hardline is a part available from Subaru. Part #37250FE012. Think I've seen it as low as $8.38. Still curious as too the fitting size, no biggie though. I can figure it out on my own pretty easily. Custom applications may not be able to utilize the stock parts, ya know?

I completely spaced on a word in the earlier post! I was asking for the size of the Hardline fittings! Too little sleep and too many coffee's today it seems.
