Hey all,

Question regarding removal of cam gears.

I just bought a cam-sprocket tool for my 2001 2.5RS, that looks like this

However, I realized then that one of the heads I have (supposedly from 2000 2.5rs), have this gear on it

What would be the appropriate removal tool for this gear? I searched on amazon and found a bunch that look like this

but none of the claim to work for a 2000/2001, so I'm hesitant to pay the 60 bucks to buy and ship.

Thanks for the help!

The plastic cam gear is the same used for a few years. I'm pretty sure that wrench will work. If you have access to air tools try and blip the bolt off. Will save a ton of money and time!

If you have an old timing belt laying around you can hold the gear with the belt and wrench on it with a breaker bar.

Confirming an impact wrench takes them off nice and easy. Didn't even need to hold the pulley with my hand.
