Burnt out bulbs?

First off, is the rear defroster button supposed to light up? Like the Hazard next to it? Because mine doesn't, and now I have to just feel around for it in the dark, hitting the hazards on several occasions. It turns on a little orange light when turned on, but the symbol is unlit.

Next, the fog light button, shouldn't it light up in some way to let you know when they're on? Because mine does not.

:rolleyes:WOOPS! I posted this in the absolute wrong place, can I move this sucka?

I know my fog light switch lights up, but I can't recall if my rear defroster does. I think it does. Sounds like a blown fuse or bulbs to me if that is supposed to be lit. :)
Talked to the Dealer's parts dept. about my fog light button. They said I needed the whole button to be replaced. Sounds a little bizarre to me... Price? I forgot because it was going to be over $100 bones per button (not including installation). I don't need to pay that for just a little light... now if it's the fog lights themselves that's a different story. Hope this helps a little.
That's a bunch of BS if you ask me. Pop it out, find the little bulb, replace it. End of story.
Your dealer is on crack, I got a whole new button to use for something else for under 30 bucks. I have a pic of what the switch looks like out of the dash and point out where the bulbs are. I have it at home and will attach it later tonight.

This link is for legacy bulb replacement but at least it will give you an idea what we are talking about till I can get the other pic up:

Ahh home from work now time for a beer. Anyway here is a pic of the switch. The bulbs come out w/ a 1/4 turn an sometimes you need something to pry them out after that. Just don't do what I did and flip the thing across the garage and never find it.

Would bulbs be covered under the warranty?

Bulbs are considered a wear item I'm pretty sure. 12k miles or something, then you buy them.

My fog light indicator light has been spazzing on me. Last night it stopped working. Didn't check today to see if it is or not.

It's cause of that crazy wiring for the foglight mod.:) J/K.

No doubt. I'm going to fix that Monday. And my horn. I think my compressor didn't like being submerged, because the fuse blew and I replaced that but still nothing. So this time I'm moving the compressor back up to high ground and leaving the horns behind the bumper vent. Darned deep puddles.
Thanks for the tip, Peaty. Off to my car... fix the bulb... bring bulb to Dealer... ask Dealer what's the bulb for... laugh. See ya.
The backlighting of my hazard light went out recently too. My car is just over a year old and only has a little over 13k so far. Can't believe it went out already. :( My friend's Integra is 12 years old and his hazards are still backlit. :boxer: This is yet another case against Subaru's fit and finish of our cars. A trunk light (already installed this) and a flat fuel door (probably do this in the future) would have been nice! :p It's already prewired and everything.
