So I bought this EDM gauge cluster and in shipping it must have broke. What I need to know is if the damdage is substatial enough to cause instalation problems? Also, I am a newb when it comes to installing gauge clusters. Is this gauge cluster a direct swap? Its going in to a 97 impreza L. The impreza will be getting a Turbo swap from a forester soon and i plan to do a wire merge keeping the stock interior and gauge cluster, however I wanted a 7k redline instead of the 6k I have now. Anyone have any answers on this issue?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. You can swap the housing if it really bother you that much.

are you going to buy and repin a 98 harness for that? I dont think the 97's have those plugs do they?
