I think you'll be OK in GS. Not 100% positive though, but I don't remember anything in the rules against upgraded brake lines.

With something like a short throw shifter throwing one out of stock i thought i should ask before i buy some.

Just found from Moutons:

Any brake linings; pre-1992 cars may use solid/braided metal brake lines.

Someone explain this, braided is a yes, then says any pre-1992?

Braided brake lines are only legal for stock-class cars if they're 10 years old (or older) -- that's where the '92 comes from.

O.Z.: That says "any brake linINGS" -- that means any brake pads or shoes, not brake linES.

Also, the short-throw shifter does throw you out of stock. A part has to be available from the factory as an option (not a dealer- or port-installed option, but a factory-assembly-line-option) to be legal for stock class.

Dan00: Remember the mantra: "If it doesn't say you can, you can't" ;)
