Beech Mountain Hillclimb is Dead.
This is an email I got from Jan Davis:

I think we should all write the Beech Mtn chamber of commerce and tell them just what we think of this decision. That little town has NOTHING to offer outside ski season. I am personally outraged that they did this.

Patty Miller, Director of the Beech Mountain Chamber of Commerce. She extended a warm holiday greeting and went on to say that she regrets having told us that everything was fine for another spring running. It seems the Chamber voted and wanted us back very much, in fact they were very delighted with the improved quality of the event. She said she was quite taken back by the recent turn of events. The Town Council had several changes in seats in the fall election. They put our event on the December agenda and voted to no longer host a hill climb in their town.

Kent: read it again. It's not the Chamber of Commerce that's at fault. They have the most to lose by it not being run.. as their little tourist town won't be getting tourists. The chamber members that run restaurants, hotels, etc. won't be getting paid by all the race teams coming into town. It's the Town Council we need to be pissed at. Write the mayor, write city hall... that's who NEEDS to hear it.

I was aware that it wan't the Chamber of commerce. Did I say that it was somewhere? Oh, I see, That is still a quote from Deadbolt. Sorry for the confusion.
