Oh and another paint session last night, went alot better than the last time but the resaults are similar







Managed to keep this heat for maybe 20mins before I left




And how it looked after drying over night












I'll probably put these doors on soon, once I get all the stuff back into them and the hinges painted. Engine should also drop in this week, just waiting for a new throwout bearing since the old one got damaged in the "puddle", lol

Big milestone tonight, engine is in!

Guess the headgaskets might be bad after all, but this would explain why the owner didn't notice any coolant loss nor overheating. Apperantly a shop claimed the heads/gaskets to be bad but she didn't really know why.





The guy who decided to use torx head bolts on the flywheels/flex plates... He's not cool... I didn't need he bolts anyway so off with the heads

Damn thing is actually pretty huge, lol. But no issues still, and I might even be able to use the stock radiator

Make sure you got some nice new motor mounts in there. I like my Cusco ones
The stock ones are staying for now. They are tired though so I'll possibly try to replace them next time the engine goes out

Ehh, I'm both stubborn and dumb at times (many times) so I won't be replacing these for now. Even if I wanted to replace them now, I couldn make it before my deadline, living on an island and all. But these should do for now, if not I'll order new ones eventually, but I'm trying to keep the cost down a bit...

A small update too, regarding trying to keep the cost down... I found out the MS2 standalone I had and intended to use wouldn't be able to run the ez30 without some internal modifications since it was set up for a 4 cyl boxer engine. And even then, it apperantly doesn't support the 36-2-2-2 crank trigger for the H6, ontop of not being able to run the vvt/vvl (which I knew). So, rather than spending time and money on the MS2, I'm getting a new standalone from my tuner, which is his personal design and can run all of the stuff the ez30 has along with the dbc (which I am not using cause the tb was missing from the engine). So... Money being spent, and I don't have to much time left before I wanted this to be done, so I figured I might as well have the guy merge the engine harness and wire it to the new ecu. I also asked him for a base map/tune if he could upload it to the ecu before I get it back and luckily for me, he already had a good ez30 tune from when he tuned my buddies car last summer. So I'm getting the harness back ready to plug and play with a tune on the ecu already, super convinient

Originally it was cause I had the MS2 around and thought I could use it. I also felt it was a simpler harness merge, which I'm sure it is still, aaand the harness/ecu out of the Tribeca used canbus which complicates things alot

Alright so, been a while since I updated this thread. Only 8 days until I wanted this done...



I did a quick "fix" on the roof. It needs to be replaced but for now stalling the rust a tad and making it look half decent was the way to go









I also fixed some dents on my spare scooped hood to make it less shitty lookin, turned out alright.





Installed the doors



Painted the roof. First attempt went horribly wrong, ended up with paint drops in a way. Probably some thick paint that didn't get mixed properly. Either way, sanded it down and repainted. Went way better












Also painted the rear bumper beam and the roof racks






Wrap coming along slowly







Got all the accessories mounted on the engine, and alternator plugged in






And I got some exhaust material to get something fabbed up

Definitely going to need some sound clips of the exhaust. You really can't go wrong with flat 6 noise.

I'll definitely get some clips, but tbh I assume its not gonna sound all that great. I don't have time to order a muffler and resonator, so it's basicly gonna be a 3" straight pipe for now. I bet it needs a good resonator and muffler to actually sound good
