Autotap

It's more expensive than the I-Club groupbuy (OBD-II scanner), but it looks a lot more capable. I sat through a 2-hour download for the demo, and it looks like it can track ALL sensors and has better data interpretation, including things like the knock sensor and injector pulse.

Anyone know anything about this? Anyone see it in action?

It's a basic obd-II scan tool. By federal law, they all have to show the same info in the same format and work on ALL obd-II vehicles. Go with whatever has the easiest inferface or is cheaper.

all you can do is read your DTC, REset the ECU the correct way(most people unhook their battery) and look at the data list, not sure if that will do freeze frame or not.

pricey

From their website:
"AT3 / Chrysler and Imports / Shipping Now / $289.95 "

The other scan tool was under $100 through group buys on i-club, but it didn't do data logging. Maybe if we can get a group buy together, and get this thing for under $200, I'd be interested. I want a scan tool, but I can't afford to pay $200 for it.

I'm gonna try and set up a group buy, check the thread here:

BTW, you need a computer (could be a laptop, or if you could somehow fit a PC in your car, it would still work) with a COM port to connect to the tool. Maybe you could also use a COM extension cable and hook it up to a PC in your shop / garage.

When you buy the obd-2 package you get the software and the interface cable. He has 100 ft cables ready to go so you can order them. I would highly recommmend setting it up on a laptop. It becomes portable and you can use it while you drive around town then analyze the data at your leisure. I beileve he was working on software for palm pilots too. You get quite a bit of info from it. I have the impression it reads anything the ecu does.
