They did a piece of some 5-mph crash tests with -ahem- the 02 RS, Lancer, volvo 240 and Kia Sedona (minivan)...
This test wasn't really a safety test, but more of a test to see how much $$$ would cost to fix these cars after the crashes.
Frist off came my 02 RS... well, they had it crash into a flat wall at 5-mph. It smashed some of the front bumper and one of the foglite covers... about $1000 damage, Lancer = $1200, Volvo = $1400 and the Kia Sedona... whoa ! This thing hit the wall, crushed the front bumper (most likely damaging frame underneath) and the f'n airbags went off = $4300 damage... only at 5-mph !
In my opinion... if my car gets hit, it better get totalled.
