Anyone else catch this?

Sorry, I don't mean to drag I-club crap over here, but did anyone else read this sticky from Nick?

http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=126930&referrerid=848

No offense to the folks here that are moderators there, but this seems to be one of the biggest problems to have befallen that site. The moderators are always right, regardless, and how dare anyone question them.

Sorry, but I consider myself a fairly intelligent guy, and I don't need to be dictated to in terms of what I am and am not allowed to read. And I also don't question someone's judgement unless I believe it's truly warranted. But obviously the "powers that be" at I-club think I am (and others like me are) too stupid to be bothered with.

Makes me even more thankful for this place, even though I think it's a shame that I-club has fallen so far.

OK, that's it, my last posting about I-club over here. Now, where was that thread with the half-naked women?
;) :D

So I'm guessing your post in that thread was sarcastic then right? :)

Eric
to be fair i think the mods are getting overly critical about stuff because of the hate mail they get...they put up with alot of shit, from a few stupid people but then take it out on the rest of us...not to mention a few of them have serious ego problems.

Bingo. But not all of them. The ones that post here kick ass. :)

Eric

Tara

All we need is female moderator. 5hit would really hit the fan then :p :biggest: J/K

Eric
i like being a mod..i can edit everything tara says there hehe
all you have to do is ask and you'll be a mod at the other board
yeah the moderators that have come along over here are the kick ass ones, but some of them are getting very large EGO's over on the i-club...i wouldn't mind helping out moderating but really at this point i have NO real interest in checking the i-club.
i've never had mod problems but then again i don't really push the envelope when i post. i have da them make fun of me when i thought it was a bit immature but whatever.

yeah i only go there to check Aftermarket induction everynow and then and the bay area forum. thats it.
I'm just going to lay low on moderating stuff. Think of the RS Club as the "Real World" of sites. If it happens, it happens, and unless it's going to get ME in legal trouble I don't care about it.

Actually, we do have a female moderator - her name is KittenBlue and she's my cutie wife! :D

!! A site founder/moderator with *gasp* common sense!! I like this place more every day. :D

I'm impressed that someone figured that out!

God you people are lame (and you know who you are). WHO CARES? If a thread gets locked, or deleted? BIG WHOOP. It's not like it matters, because 95% of the time the thread is a complete waste of bandwidth. IF there is a serious gripe about a thread getting closed, Nick and Alex want to hear about it. But when people complain because I ROBOT got a thread closed for posting stupid crap, it gets old. It is NOT, I repeat, NOT important. All that Nick was asking is that people quit bugging him (and Alex) about stupid things. Leave the guys alone. Can you imagine how many stupid emails they get with 11k members?

Do you guys go crying and whining when you get kicked out of a movie theater for bringing in your own food? I should hope not. There are certain rules, however stupid, that everybody lives with. So when a stupid and lame thread gets deleted or closed, don't go crying and whining to Nick and Alex. If it is an interesting thread that has some importance, and some moderator arbitrarily closes it, THEN complain about it.

Horatio, please relax. I was expressing what is known as an "opinion", and I don't expect that everyone agree with me. However, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a bit more of a mature response than that.

Also, it seems like this forum doesn't have a problem with people expressing their opinions (thanks James!), and perhaps I-club does. I fully understand that Alex and Nick probably get a boatload of stupid messages on a daily basis, but I don't agree that it's a good thing to just tell folks to take all their complaints elsewhere. If you don't have a problem with that, than that's great for you. You're experience with the I-club will be far more positive from here on out than mine.

Look, I didn't post this to start a flame war, or even an RS25.com vs I-club debate. I was simply following Nick's directions and taking my gripes elsewhere. If you don't want to read them over here, than that's your choice as well. I'm sure that I-club would be just as happy to keep you over there full time.

Mike - Sorry. I read the link that Porter posted over on the i-club, and I now understand what you're talking about. I think the problem is for the most part contained in forums over there that I don't read. I get tired of reading the threads bashing the moderators when I hardly ever see a reason for it.

Hey, no harm, no foul. We're all entitled to our own opinions, which is just one of the many things we can be thankful for this holiday season (no matter which holiday you may be celebrating), and our Subarus are another! :D

I appreciate your response, and I'll apologize as well if I was a little sarcastic in my last post.

In any case, I definitely think it's time to talk about our wonderful cars again. I vote we let this thread die now.
