Bought a 97 impreza L. The rear wheel bearings are dying loudly.

I have the rear spindles off my old 2000 RS.
I ordered hubs with bearings in them for an 06 wrx. Am trying to install these in the rear spindles with little luck. However, i stuck my old RS axles into the hubs to check them and they have a different spline count.

So what do i do? buy some 06 wrx axles? will that work with the RS rear diff?

OR do i just order some hubs w/ bearings for an 00 RS? anyone know where to find these?

OR do i blow moneys on getting spindles on ebay and hope the bearings are good?

Really trying to get the car sorted out, any help would be appreciated.

Buy rear hubs, bearings and seals for the 00RS and install those on the 00RS spindles. Any auto parts shop should be able to get all of those parts.

Otherwise, just source a set of wheel bearings and seals for the 97L (same bearing as the 00 RS) and replace them directly.

Does anyone know if 06 axles will work with r160 rear diff? Do the splines match on the diff side?

If I get 06 axles, i can install the 06 hubs/bearings in my knuckles.
