My ABS makes a buzzing sound now everytime I use it on the ice. I never noticed this noise before until recently while screwing around on the snow and ice. Is there something wrong or does everyone elses make noise when it kicks in? I'm thinking that it has always made this noise, but I just now noticed it.

buzzing like a hum? or is it really an abrassive buz. If it's the later you should be fine. That's what mine does! It should be pretty loud too. Sounds like, grrrraaakkk grraaack graaaack.

It's pretty normal. You probably just hit the ABS for the first time with the stereo off.

It seems that the county is trying this new technique this year to prevent black ice by covering the road with gasoline or diesel fuel. That combined with paint stripes at a crosswalk threw my ABS for a loop this morning.

exact same thing happened to me on saturday. I was braking pretty hard to stop for a light that seemed to change pretty damn fast... ABS kicked in when i hit the stopline/crosswalk. You always hear Derick Bell going on and on ....and ON about how the water stays on those painted lines and kerbs, and how they can catch you out.

Dang. Funny thing is that I had a stop sign do that to me a couple of days ago too!
I'm driving along at like 35-40 in a 30 I think, and all of a sudden there's this 4-way stop with traffic coming on 2 sides! So I laid on the brakes and slid through the crosswalk. How embarrasing. I wish I had a PA system so I could tell everybody that the stop sign was hidden from view because of the Jeep parked in front of it!

I wonder what the price of the ticket is for parking close to a stop sign is? I kind of had a similar stop sign incident... except for me the stop sign post was chopped in half. Which is fine if you're in a lowrider.

Whatever they are putting on the roads is crap! It's squirelly where they put that stuff and it's nasty when it's on your car. I have nothing good to say about that.

Whatever it is, I doubt it's diesel - diesel is EXTREMELY slippery stuff. Go walk in a puddle at the local truck stop and you'll see what I mean.

I was being a tad sarcastic. Somebody had a hole in their fuel tank and spilled fuel all over the road. I think it was diesel.
