2.2 impreza (gf) n/a trying to figure out what mods I can do with an engine that is a low level tier don’t want to waste money or time installing a turbo maybe after an engine swap but for now just want see what I can get out of that 2.2 already order a lightweight crank pulley iam install next week tryed to look for a bigger intake manifold couldnt find so idk if upgraded the exhaust manifold is a good idea if I cant get a bigger intake manifold this my first Subaru usually all I would do is bigger intake manifold bigger exhaust manifold nd bigger injectors nd a tune but I can’t find anything on forums or google about this 2.2 engine just negative

I also It is a 5speed I replaced the clutch about 2 months ago about clutch was 180 I tryed doing my self but I failed nd gave up was a lot more then the clutch payed 600 to get it rite I just need some advice on 2.2 not worth the investment I don’t expect a 5.0 killer but what I’ve seen the 2.2 is not favorable idk or should I just keep it as a daily nd get something worth the money nd headache
There's an entire section on this in the NA TUNING subforum of this website. The 2.2 has been around for over 30 years at this point and the reason why you aren't seeing any information about modifying it is because you really can't make any decent power gains on a budget without turbocharging it. There's a reason why people swap their cars. It'll cost you less money to swap in a 2.5l engine than to modify your engine to make 165hp.
