A friend of mines sister has a 91 XT6, and the air suspension on it has gone bad and needs to be replaced. The air stuff is expensive, but he's heard that you can convert it to coil-over for about half the price. But he's asked several parts places about it, but they say it can't be done, but sometimes, parts store people have dumb heads. Anyways, is this really possible, and if so, what parts are needed? Thanks in advance!

Yes, it can be done, and there are several places, like the ones mentioned above, that can tell you how.

Good luck!

FRONT STRUTS AND SPRINGS FROM A 2.5RS WILL WORK!

Get the rear springs and struts from an XT6 though... AWD version for normal ride height, 2wd version for a higher rallyish ride height. Looks cool.

That combo will give you MAD handling. Serious GoKart material.

Incidentally, mine is set up that way but it's up in NJ waiting for a timing belt replacement... :(

Did they make XT6's without the air ride stuff, and is that the rear suspension stuff you need? And is there anything that needs to be done to get the RS front parts to fit, or are they a direct bolt-on? Thanks for the help!:D

You need to talk to Paisan. He's the one that did the conversion... I bought the car from him. He's the GURU of all things XT6.

Paisan on NASIOC and Subaru-SVX.net.... drop him an email or a PM or something.
