The WRX 6MT isnt the Spec.B and BM 2.5i 6MT it is THE 6MT. the Spec.B got 6 forward gears by SOA squeezing in an extra overdrive gear into the 5MT case. The 5MT is no slouch gearbox.

The look of the WRX is just so uninteresting I wish the lines were more angular and not so bubble like if that makes sense. The drivetrain is legit that FA20 DIT + 6MT will be a screamer and on the highway that 3.54 F/D will make for good fuel mileage figures.

No, Mitsubishi is probably going to reinvent the Evo. The car isn't what it originally was. The Evo X is nothing more than a big ass Galant or Diamante with awd and more power.

Except that it's not using an FA series engine. It'll be the EJ25 series engine. Now the STI might use the FA20DIT, but if the MRT news is any indicator, we won't get that, but instead get another EJ25. While EU and Japan get the FA20DIT.

It kind of makes sense though. US market doesn't get hammered for higher displacement engines and might as well clear out some of the EJ25 stock in the US market, then move to the FA20DIT later on. Like 2016/2017.

last time subaru tried to redesign a vehicle without any inspiration from any other car maker we got the ugly Tribeca....

i don't give a damn if it looks like another car. It's still a Subaru, and I have faith in their production. Is it not as aggressive as we thought? Nope, but what mid-range price sports car is? You want more aggressive, expand your price range.

Do not want.

For all those who say it will grow on you. I haven't liked the looks of any Impreza since 2003. Anything 08+ is a heavy ugly turd.

I agree the BRZ is a darn good looking car.
After I've seen a few in person they might grow on me but I dislike this one more than when the 2008 remodel came out and I didn't care too much for that one either. 2008+ has grown on me since then but they're not my favorite Impreza Subaru has made.

Got bored (as usual) added WRX Concept wheels/brakes, STi wing, bugeye fogs, and a few other details. Every Subaru needs big fogs.

Why do ppl wear yellow fogs? They're so ugly and make me want to just smash them in the parking lot when I see them.

 JDM breh. If it was WRB it would look better in my opinion but I did it to try and complement the highlighter yellow brakes. Because le mans racecar. Didn't know the Japanese tuner community was so into le mans but I guess they are. Which is cool, I love ALMS.

lolwut

so youre saying theyre going to redesign cylinder head and manifold to fit direct injection on the old engine rather than put in the new enigne theyve been working on and are putting in practically everything? and a year later they are going to change all the mounts to fit in the new motor?

all other news sources say direct injected 2.0T with the more detailed (ie motortrend) saying its specifically the FA20 out of the forester XT, which has the correct displacement and figures, including the fact that its direct injected, for what was announced for the wrx.

so now what is MRT news?

Cause making a new subframe is going to be too hard? Also who said anything about putting DIT on an EJ25?

SCOOP - New Subaru WRX STI

MRT Performance is Australia's largest, if not best aftermarket parts company/producer for Subaru's.

Anyways, looks like their info might be dated, since Subaru.com has the WRX with the FA20.

Anyways, why would working direct injection onto the EJ25 a bad thing? If I was Subaru, I'd do it and see how well it comes out. Never know, could end up being better than the FA20 or could be worse. If it ends up being better, they can just keep pumping out old EJ shortblocks.

i was saying theyve advertised the fact that it is going to be direct injected so if it was an EJ25, that would require fitting DI on it. transmission fitment, i would posit, would be a significantly more arduous task than a new crossmember. regardless neither is practical from a large scale penny pinching auto development standpoint. neither is 'testing out' direct injection on an old engine.

that article was written by some used car internet bloke.

clearly theyre not using an EJ25.

Making a concept car you never plan to release isn't exactly practical from a large scale penny pinching auto development standpoint, but pretty much every company seems to do it and do it quite often.

That or created some limited edition STI model that's only available in a single country. So I really don't see any issue with them testing out direct injection on the old block.

Yellow allows the driver to see better definition of the snow, white light reflects too much and blinds the driver. They're functional, it's not just "JDM"
