I know the diff was different in 01 than 98, what about gear ratios and such? should i be able to bolt this up and drive the car?

Don't quote me, but I think the ratios are the same. If not, just swap over the rear diff as well and you're done.

If you snake the rear diff you'll add a limited slip. Bonus.

Otherwise it was just the manual tranny linkage and stuff that changed.
I don't think the 4eat underwent any changes.
the reason i want to do just the tranny swap is 400 or 1200.

money is tight..i know the g/f would love having a limited slip in her car but it's not feasable.

besides it's a anniversary/early b-day gift

my g/f rocks.

Huh? They only want $400 for the tranny? But another $800 if you take the rear diff too? Sheesh.

If they're both out of an RS (or both out of an L) the gearing should be the same. Actually... I think my '98L had a 4.11 too, so they just might all be the same. But you're talking slushbox... who knows.
yea i understand that....any body got any good links to where i could find out about this?
