While the 2.5RS was an aggressively styled car for it's day, my modification goals were always to build a "Super Sleeper", aiming to confuse and bewilder STI and EVO owners on the streets, and intimidate Porsches in the mountains and on track. These cars are already quite nimble, and with the right suspension component upgrades, thick rubber, and improved braking, there wasn't a 4-wheeled vehicle I encountered that could out maneuver it in corners... And then I added a turbo.

This is my second build using a Vishnu Turbo kit. The first build was on a stock block and drivetrain @ 10PSI for over 50k miles. The custom spec turbo provides a significant amount of air volume at any given pressure as it's a relatively large turbo, with maybe 6" of piping between it and a throttle body mounted intercooler. Lag is not an issue. Numerous track days and daily driven for years, never an engine issue, not even a head gasket. Delivered right around 240hp to the wheels.

This is now my 2nd 2.5RS, and I opted for STi forged internals and ARP hardware for added durability, and lowering the compression ratio for more boost. The clutch selection was perfect for about 300whp, holding strong up to that point, but not much more, allowing slight slippage under shock loads not to abuse the 5-speed gearbox. I'm very happy with the upgrade selections on this second rendition. Smarter part selection helped decrease NVH from unnecessary bushings and bars, including a more refined coilover setup with wider adjustability range, and increasing drivetrain strength and balance throughout.

Short gear ratio, short wheel base, 2800lb AWD with 300hp on tap... it's absolutely lethal. I love this car more every time I drive it!
