Default Transmission swap questions

Will the driveshafts from my 98 rs work with a 06 wagon wrx transmission and diff? Is the 06 wrx transmission stronger then the rs's since it came on a turbo?

I just realized I'm not sure if I can jack the car up high enough to pull the trans. Does anyone know if 17inch's is enough

You can always use blocks of wood to set the jack stands on as well as help the jack. Just make sure they're sturdy.

When I took mine out, it was on a QuickJack, advertised to have 18" lift. It was tight, but I used a motorcycle-jack, not a compact trans-jack. I would think 17" would be enough.

I just realized the rs has stub axles and the wrx are male. From what I read the abs plugs on the wrx are different. Can the plugs be swapped over if so how do I remove the plugs?

Will the gd axle work fine with my gc knuckles? the gd ones have tone rings.
