Default Lifting WRX or RX pros/cons?

Im about to start my next project, im looking to lift an N series to handle some heavy offroading, is it worth investing in a wrx? Is the added turbo ect overly useful as it wouldn't be used for higher speed performance? Is there something im not thinking of here or will just an rx do the job?

Thanks

What do you mean by "heavy" off-roading? Rock crawling? Forest roads for lots of miles? Mud bogging? Do you want to lift to install larger tires or simply for ground clearance?

Also where are you located?

When you say RX do you mean RS or an old school RX?

Just shy of rock crawling, needs to handle mud and water possibly adding snorkel if it doesn't impact output too much
Probably both, plan on shaving wells to fit mudding tyres, clearance would help too

Ah ok sorry I was thinking 80s RX not the AUS version of the 2.5RS we got in the states.

Here a thread that may help inspire you: Ari's POS Lifted Outback Daily

Personally I think you ought to purchase a vehicle for off-roading purposes rather than trying to achieve it in your RX. You start lifting a vehicle beyond 2 inches and suspension geometry becomes funky.
