I need to pull my ej255 out. On the intercooler bracket on the passenger side the bolt towards the middle of the block was snapped off by the previous owner. Will it be alright to using the bracket to lift the motor out when it's only being hold on by one bolt?
Is it unpossible to extract the broken fastener and replace it? You gotta do what you gotta do to get the motor out, but I'd try to get a bolt in that second hole if at all possible.
Would it be fine using the bracket with the one bolt? I'm trying to drill it out to tap it but it looks like I'm going off center. This is the reason why I didn't want to drill it out on the car.
Dude, intake manifold gaskets are like $5. If you're too broke to buy them then use literally ANY bolt that screws into the block or heads. Just pick a couple.
You don't need fancy L shaped brackets. You can slam a bolt through link of chain.
One that engages more than just a few threads, but one that doesn't bottom out the hole before making the chain tight.
