Default Type RA rep. in the making

THIS CAR IS A PIECE OF SHIT. page 5 on noob settings for the my most recent post.

Car is now swapped with a ver3 ej20k and tranny!

Hey Guys, I've been a longtime lurker here and I think its about time to put a build/journal together. First I'll introduce myself, my name is Neil. I'm 19, go to college at the university of maine, and I have a thing for subarus. My first car was a 2.5lgt automatic and when I was 16, I thought I was hot shit lol. Until i figured out that, "hey my car is really not that cool". I started lurking forums and starting getting into cars. I have since then realized that yea the leggy was cool, the RS/WRX/STI is the way to go.

This summer I picked up a '99 RS from a local guy, since my brother was getting my legacy car this winter. It definitely needed work and I think I picked up a lemon, in my eyes... At the time however, I didn't care. I got one of my dream cars. Over my time of ownership the car has had 2 bad wheel bearings, and going on its 3rd right now. Also had the rusty filler neck, rusty bumper beams i have to address... and the list goes on...and on....

very ugly face... notice ricey ebay lights, large grill/hood gap, janky hood clips, and stickers all over the hood...

--I immediately started de'ricing' the sorry car...!

-First real mod/de rice i did, was the removal of my wicked tight rally wing...

-i ended up buying a sedan trunk with a sedan wing (which i later got rid of).

-shortly after this lovely sight showed up...

-this was money i wanted for mods!!

about 3 weeks after buying the car I met Rick, (FLAT4AWD). A good friend of mine now, and a reason for why my car is in the place it is now.

Rick and I set to work on painting the doors of the car so I didn't look AS ridiculous...

-great debadging by rick lol

-This was the final result of our handy work!! It wasn't too bad for a couple of jabroni's that were working from 6pm til dark for 3-4 days.

-After paint this is what it looked like! change of color change of scenery lol

any feedback is welcome, i wanna hear it all. shit on the car, love the car, be neutral about the car. I wanna hear what you guys think. ALSO PLEASE ADMIRE HOW BAD IT LOOKED BEFORE!! Can't believe i bought that lol...

thanks for the kind comments, gives me something good to think about. Unlike my friends that shit on me for working on my car and my car having mishaps here and there...

Talking with a guy about bumper beams from a 96 outback. I'm assuming they are direct bolt up? Just making sure really. Also what kinda fab word can i do so they are like wicked light beams? I know it will affect structural integrity, but what about holding on the bumper. Has anyone experimented? thanks for feedback ahead of time

Did you paint the car yourself? If do what did you use? It looks really good
