Well I Purchased my 2000 2.5rs In February 2009 with 149k on the clock. It came with 2 year old paint i lucked out, to bad the paint is full of orange peel but i cant complain.
What moved you onto Subarus in the first place then up to the 2.5rs?
I remember when i was probaly about 13 or 14 i remember we drove outta town for my father because he purchased a car, and i didnt know what it was but i was with my cousins and i acted like i knew and said "yeah my dads getting this for me." i was trying to act cool lol. we get there and before me is a old Mail 1997 Subaru Outback Sport Vehicle(auto) with 214k on the clock. I kept telling them it was gonna be mine when i get old enough.
(2005)- Well when i was about 16, i started asking my father what those cars he liked so much, and he replied its a Subaru XT and XT6. (he has 6 of them) he loves them and collects them and wants to build one up. anyways aside from that i always wanted to make my father proud and be like him so i wanted to become a mechanic and he has always told me "Subaru's are the easiest car you can work on." and well i have discovered for the most part yes they are!
(2007)- Well i proceeded to research about Subaru's and gain fascination over them. Around this time i turned 18 and have finally moved out. i moved into my friends Family's house, i had no job and no License because my father wouldn't let me get it due to the fact of my grades and the classic father being a asshole sometimes. Well i started at Burger King and my dad offered to sell me my first car and guess what it was? The 1997 Outback Sport (auto) for $500. Needless to say i jumped on the offer and saved up to buy it. I absolutely loved that car, i learned so much stuff working on it.
During this time of ownership the passion grew and grew for the Impreza and most definitely the Classic Impreza! I began Learning about the different types, the models. Then the 22b was found. I couldn't stop fasinating about having one. I realized average chance ill never own one. So i looked at all the models and then i discovered the 2.5rs and became addicted to it. I scoured the web for hundreds of things about the 2.5rs. I began my search and found one in a town (Helena) that was black and a 98' i drove down there and Test Drove it, before this test drive i have never drove a Manuel before i had only watched and read online about how to do it... Lets just say im lucky when he didnt come with me on the test drive, it was a private sale. i stalled it more then 5 times out of his drive way till pretty much dropping the cluck to get it going.. but once i did get it going i was fine. To this day i love that first 2.5rs i drove it had something special about it that my 2.5 doesnt. i just felt so amazing, it could have been just the feeling of finally driving it i dont know but something was special that day..
Well during that week after test driving it i couldnt stop thinking about it, i had went to wells fargo and taken out a loan for 5k i talked him down to 5k from 6k for it. One day before heading back up to get it, i checked my email and had a feeling and my feeling was correct. I had gotten a email from him saying he had just sold it. Was i ever dissappointed. From here i searched everywhere within 2 states of montana, and found 2 others and problems came up with the dealership not wanting to message me back or anything. i truly believed i would NEVER get one.
(2008)- I was at our local mall in Great Falls and i was with my friend and i turned over a saw it... a Blue Ridge Pearl 2.5rs wingless... i ran over and looked at it and fell in love. i told my friend that day, and that second that this car was gunna be mine.. (totally joking when i said that). I had saw that car previously 2 weeks prior at a tattoo shop and checked it out to
Fast Forward to 2 weeks later.. Im Pulling into walmart in the OBS and look behind me and there he is driving it right behind me. i park follow to where he parked. I start talking to him, he just got back from Iraq and etc. i tell him that i would love to buy it. and well he gives me his number and then from there we go our own ways.
(2008) Like 2 months later i get a call from him and he says he will sell me it for 5 grand. im like ok and i have him meet me for a test drive at my house. i check everything but compression (i didnt have tools or know how of that) i drive it and "OMG IN LOVE"! I sell my Outback Sport for $1800 it had 242k on the clock. then a week later I go to Wells fargo again and sign up for taking out a loan for 5k on this car, about 2 days later. When im just about to find out if i got approved he calls and tells me Never mind on the sale. the dealership he was gunna buy his S2k(s2000) from raised the price and he wasnt gunna pay that much. once again a 2.5rs has fallen from me..and i had sold my only car.. how depressing. Around 2 months later i end up quitting Burger King..
(early, 2009) Its early Feburary, i wake up and Check my Myspace (like i do everymorning) and i got a message from the owner of the BRP RS. He says hes selling it and he just got a 02-03 wrx. im like ok (still jobless) i go out and job hunt like a motherf****r. The only place that would Hire me is the Movie Theater. So i take the Job. the Next two weeks after getting hired were so hard! Since i just started the Job i couldnt take out a loan, i had to go to my friend who worked at BK and i helped him get hired when i got hired there.
Now even my Cosigner (same one from before) had second thoughts about doing it since i just went jobless for so long, she had a point but i wanted this car so bad! The next 2 weeks i begged. I Test drove it again and it felt amazing. Finally she agrees and we go get the loan. Luckly for me he needed to sell it fast because he got outta the airforce and was going back to California so he said $3500 also he had Cracked a chunk off the front bumper when slidding around in a parking lot and hit a ice chunk, i found out the clutch in the AC Compressor was bad so he went down to $3400. I agreed of course, and Bought it! I was soo happy!

So now my mind set is trying to do later on a 22b bodykit/flares maybe. A WRX engine swap USDM 2.5L or STi. and just enjoying this car making it nicer and nicer!

A Drunk Driver Rear Ended me, Him and he passenger threatened me, so i drove off, then hid and called the cops while following him, and ended up getting $600 for no noticable damage luckly.. He hit the rear hard but his bumper fit mine pretty well so just like very minor scratchs.
Well when i had purchased the car i was told the timing belt was changed. well it probally was but the idler cog pully wasnt. That seized on me during december, Well i didnt have the cash to pay to have it done and well ive always wanted to learn how to do everything so i thought this would be a perfect time, except for the whole being 30F out... and outside in the street.
Well i ended up paying about $700 for two 40k mile used good heads, new head gaskets, and other gaskets and timing belt and ALL pullys and idlers. well about 2-3 weeks later i finally got it finished and it started right up wow just had a 50$ tool set and rs25 and i did a top end engine head/timing belt change doo daaa and well she runs perfect i even detailed the manifold and polished it up and gained some noticable power from cleaning everything!
Sept 2009- Front 02 sensor failed again, due to not using a OEM Sensor. Second one to fail, the second time this occured i replaced the whole electrical, Coil pack, plugs, wires then found out it was my o2 sensor
Sept 2012- Driver side window Regulator snapped, Replaced 10/1/2012
