So i had a coil pack tang break off leaving me stranded on the highway outside town, spent two hours running back and forth with tools because i thought it was a bad fuel pump or something. Fixed that today and decided to swap the wastegate spring and up the boost, 1-bar spring and i now have it tuned to 17psi on map 1, 20psi on map two and it scoots pretty good, HOWEVER i think im now past the limit of what the stock pcv system can handle. If im pushing the car into higher boost pressures and then cruise somewhere that i turn the car off, all is good if i start it up immediately but if it sits for more than 10 minutes i get a huge plume of oil on startup. If it sits longer than 4-5 hours to the point of where its cooled down, no smoke.

This leads me to believe there is excess oil in the intake system, inlet, turbo, intercooler, manifold etc and its condensing when the motor is off and pooling up. Then when i fire it back up its burned off.

Anyone else have a catch can setup, not an AOS but an actual dead end can? Older EJ20s dont have the balance ports the new blocks/heads have so im limited to the three supplied ports on the motor. Im open to ideas...

Run both covers and the crankcase breather to a baffled can, run another line to a post-O2 location on your downpipe/exhaust and put a one way check valve in that line. Put screens or steel wool in the fittings to keep most of the splashing down. The check valve in the downpipe creates a vacuum venting the can alot more efficiently.

I've heard of people draining the can back into the crankcase but I've never looked into the details myself.
