Also im guessing this thing had recycled coolant running through it for quite some time, as this is the first time ive done any motor work to it, so ive been running as-is since I got it. Everything the coolant touched has corrosion on it, the heads are pitted, the block water passages are all gummed up, im hoping the water pump is ok since it looks like it was replaced recently and the seals are all ****** dorey so I left it. I block sanded the heads and block with 320, 400, then 600 as that's how they were done at the dealer when all the head gasket shenanigans were going on. Everything came out really nice so im hoping it lasts till I can swap it. The motor is pretty dirty inside, im assuming theres a good amount of blowby as well, I did a leakdown test and the exhaust valves leak as well as rings.

So im just gonna beat the snot out of it until it pops. That's the plan.

I'm gonna bring the sedan up so we can play with my motor and transmission, yes? Yes.

I might need some headgaskets also...

Ordered up a Rotisserie from Redline Stands, a big a$$ parts washer tank too, and finally ordered a tig welder. I went with an AHP TIG unit, Chinese made but lots of people like them, they come with features that Lincoln/Miller charge out your ass for and when you call up for service/support, you can talk directly to the engineers in their r&d dept which is awesome. I should have everything sometime next month so hopefully I can clear the garage out and start working on the RS again.

Cant wait to see this all in action. If I had the space I would do the same thing. Strip the car down to bare metal and weld every nook and cranny up nice and tight.

That's 750lbs in the back of the forester, drove like a champ! Ill set it up in after next week as im off next week for vacation and ocean city AWD meet, I have a few cars I need to finish up to make more space in my yard, plus I have to finish rocking up the garage and move some motors to the other end of town. Lots to do!
