Land of the free BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE...thanks goes to US for our take on badass GC8's...and also to the revival in popularity of razor sharp 90's Japanese tuning culture! 🗻 ⛩

The side marker likes are the same bulbs in your instrument cluster. 168's; which are only rated for about 5w. FAKE NEWS.... So it's actually 194's that are even less; 3.8w. I'm not sure how they're tied in to the turn signal circuit but I don't think one of them being out will cause a fast flash.

Thanks bruh! :sunny:

Get a better camera instead of your 90s era KODAK disposable.... JESUS... How long did it take to process the film at wal-mart? :biglaugh:
:blol: You know I'm so 90's I would though Soochie...you're so mad my car looks sexy as fuck with that bumper I can sense it through the internet!

they have a 24hr turn around I think?

Hmm... seems like you cut out the slats in the center of the bumper? Looks 10x better IMO.
Do those bumpers take the same fogs as, say, an 02 outback? I've got a few spares I could toss your way, unless you're just running covers?
Anywho the car looks great, those stubby mirrors always throw me
Thanks!

This bumper has been across the state of Maine, a lot of ancient GC Impreza History Channel info incoming...Benson had it on his Aspen White 2.2/2.0 turbo-frankenstein'd RS, then he either sold it to Indian Rally Rob, or Indian Rally Rob somehow acquired it through some sort of shady Rally Car type transactions. I think Dan Fuckette once owned it too (this could be #fakenews, Dan if you read this don't get pissed at me). MooseInABox aka Chris Omlette definitely once had it, because I bought it from him during a Christmas or Thanksgiving event up in The Bangor Area like 3-4 years ago. I ran it on my Acadia Green Impreza, that you sourced most of your turbo build from.

The center of the bumper section was cut out lonnnng before I aquired it (I would NEVER cut up a Version 4 bumper, that's just something my JDM pedigree wouldn't allow me to do). The bumper can theoretically take whatever fogs you can fit in there; og fluted ones, v5's, rainbow kouki's, outback, legacy, tractor supply led's, etc.

I have covers, backing plates and a set of Crystal Clears that I painted yellow with Vans JDM spray for this bumper. I doubt I'd even install or wire them up until the fall though. Like BrianOfTheJungle suggested, I should go with the multi-colored 'rainbow' kouki fogs but they're mad $$$$...even though they aren't period correct for this car they are HELLA SEXY. Look em' up, they're the sickest fog lamps for these cars.

The mirrors are just WRC replica's, but they are genuine carbon fiber and do weigh a lot less then stockers.

This has arrived, as the people cried out in joy:

Coming in at a hefty 13.5~lbs. avg... I'm not mad about the weight-I got a smoking good deal on it and combined with the Kartboy lightweight crank pulley the car will be better balanced. I considered other configurations, but preferred only lowering the weight slightly because I didn't care to change my driving habits. Mating that bad bish with ACT HDSS pressure plate and disc leftover from the green impreza.

I shoulda known you'd have fogs, durrr!
That's nuts, quite the life that bumper has had! Glad it didn't end up in peices in a snowbank like so many others have here in NE. I still think it looks better without the slats...:run:

I didn't think 13.5 was that heavy for a flywheel? Aren't the lightweight ones like 11.5ish? If two pounds makes that much of a difference, I'll have to reconsider trying out a lightweight crank pulley.

Ha, yeah I’ll probably still get Kouki’s if they ever go on sale.

I was just kidding about the weight of it...there’s much lighter ones available however. I decided upon this one for oem-ish street drivability, but still better rev dropping/spinning up. It’s a pretty average setup, the only harshness will be that ACT pressure plate I’m reusing (that mafucka spanks you if you don’t get it right).

I used some of that 3M Super 77 adhesive on the top where it was majorly deteriorating, seems to have worked. I just need to install it, but it's such a pain to do. Last time it fucked up my signals, couldn't retain horn function so I'm putting it off...

In the beginning of time there was rust...

...and then there was
the absence of it:

Correct, I did not do a thorough job. I'm taking it to my bodyshop guy who is going to do a full-on fully sicked out polished job this summer.

Stay 'tuned'...

I started to put that MoMo wheel on today, and realized I needed a special tool that I don't have for the weird hex bits on the side column. Oh well, I decided to make the best of the day and plastidip some trim that was bugging the shit out of me:

No clue as to why the paint flakes to reveal shinyness under, makes me wonder why fhi didn't simply use black trim in the first place.
