2 steps forward, 1 step back.
Turns out this GD wrx tank won't fit in my chassis for some reason.

The hump on the lowered section is hitting the body of the car and I've still got a couple of inches before i can bolt up the tank strap.

FML

but did manage to get the subframe and steering rack in. Fuel and brake hardlines.
yay?

Horray for BFH! Actually went fairly quiet. Must've blistered from being in the sun or something.
Now I just need a longer vent hose. Subaru wants$110 for the OEM one. It doesn't have to be high pressure right? I could just get some fuel hose at O-O-Oh Oreiillllys?

1.5 way
Says it needs the VLSD housing so I'll probably have some fun figuring out it won't fit in my open diff and then trying to figure out what axles I need and that none of the 12 i have in my garage will fit. geeze I sound like a grumpy old man.

I AM EXCITE

also bought a hatch that had originally had spoilers on it from factory so I wouldn't need to drill holes. BUT.. glass didn't make it. so now I get to decide if I spend way too much money replacing the glass or using the "new" hatch as a template to just drill my old one out anyway.

bonus is that it came with the harness that the previous owner had hacked to pieces.

I got the tank bolt yesterday from the dealer and hopefully my fuel vent hose comes today. Then I can complete the fuel tank fiasco and move on to some more fun.

measure twice.. cut-fuck. Guess I should have measured better than the old extended thumb and first finger, twice, approximation.

I suck

got the filler neck cleaned and re-installed to at least feel like I accomplished something today

then I started cracking open the diff for the kaaz install
and like I figured, wrong diff or I have the wrong one it installs into.
final drive gear wont even go on and no way in hell this fits

the stagnation continues

Finally got the stupid rear brake lines. I went to go put the old ones on and they had a little corrosion on them. I wire wheeled them but decided at $30 a piece to just get new ones, and then I ordered all new clips for front and rear so most of my absence was waiting for those fucking parts to arrive.

But also, its cold outside and its hard to find motivation to be in the garage.

New lines and clips in the rear:

He wants to help

New clips and NON ABS lines in the front. Can't fucking get the triangle one on the passenger side at the top.

gas tank finally up now that the lines are in place with a long enough vent hose.

rear subframe quickly follows suit

I feel like I should have had these powder coated to match.. :/

DONT FORGET TO CONNECT THESE

tank protectors

RIGHT diff!

ring gear on

where I grindeded, i actually had to grind a little on the flat between the nubs for the bolt head to pass through.

Kaaz'd up!

the muffler is some ebay crap. DTM 3" bent tip something something.. I'll see if I can find the link.
