resurfaced properly:




popped the pistons




gonna open the ring gaps to CP specs and clean the block. then I can start putting shit back together! yay!

filed the rings
.020 top and .024 middle



cleaned the heads and block, wiped cylinder walls with oiled rag


popped the pistons back in, head gasket on


seated the ARP studs, will torque when its on the stand



I need new crush washers for the galley plugs and then I can do flywheel/ clutch and mate up the trans.

flywheel torqued and pilot bearing


back on the stand. gonna torque the heads and then mate up the trans

ARP has an installation method for torquing the head studs that differs from the FSM.
You guys know which one is correct? FSM has the "back off 90 degrees and retighten" bullshit
ARP just says ease into the torque spec ie 20-35-50ftlbs..
