Default Wordsworth’s Winter Ride

Long time lurker of this site and first time poster. I had been looking for a Impreza coupe for some time now, and couple of weekends ago the car gods put the keys to a 1998 RS in my hands after a road trip to Indiana with my girlfriend. Everything seems to be in decent order after driving it back on the trip. The only thing that seems to be of worry is that the brakes are super mushy and almost go to the floor, also the passenger side window does not like to go up on its own. I have ordered many of parts and lube to get this ride ready for the winter months to come. Just want to say thanks to everyone that posts on here with all the great information and to the GF for putting up with me. Words

Rust free RS and you are going to drive it in the winter through SE Wisconsin roads? Goodbye quarter panels.

That is the plan. I have been looking into products like Waxoyl for some protection, does anyone have any experience with these in which works the best. Thanks, Words

From my experience, unless you have the car undercoated properly.. none of those products will keep you from getting rusty for very long.. something is better than nothing but i'd vote to buy a $800 civic to run through the winter. I've seen these cars go from pristine to swiss cheese in two winters, even though the owner took care of them and kept them washed
