Scary stuff. I have Motul 300 in my trans and we see -20* F or worse occasionally. Guess I'll see.

OH BOY AM I EXCITED

Can't wait to hack into my roof and have this bad boy installed. No more choking on dust at the rallies!

Also working on getting a skidplate, and if all goes well will be at the MLRC rallycross in Bancroft, Ontario on the 22nd

lol yep. I got it from the post on Ontario Subaru Club on fb. I've seen em go for about the same price on Y! auctions etc, but dealing with import stuff can get messy, so was happy to pay asking for it, as peace of mind and lack of headaches is worth all the money in the world.

Still messing with fixing this two cylinder injectors not firing issue, swapped to version 1 sti injectors to see if that was the issue, but no dice. Gonna do some probing of the harness today and see if I can figure it out. I absolutely HATE wiring gremlins, so this could get messy, especially with the butchered setup in my car.

It's super frustrating as it happens randomly, usually with low engine revs, and fixes it's self every time with a quick motor restart....

Will report with results hopefully soon.

Thanks! had a good look through, I'll need to see about the map light bracket, may need to source one of those.

So, school and work have occupied me for the last bit, and I missed the rallycross because the car was still not ready.

Plan for now:

- Find another car to do the TSD rally on the 28th
- Wire up the '02 WRX ecu into the car, and solve all of the issues.
- Install '07 sti fuel injectors (565cc yellows) and rails to match
- Replace fuel tank
- Valve cover gaskets (and valve lash if I have solid lifters... not 100% sure)
- Power steering pump + lines
- Mount and balance "new" winters (got a set of 2 year old Toyo Observe GSI-5's for a steal).
- Install a digital cluster of some kind so I have a speedo and odo

Had a nice chat with my tuner, going to be running the Group N aka Carberry rom, hybrid setup (maf and speed density), with launch control, antilag, and some other goodies. Proposed drop off date is Feb 9th, so I have about 18 days to get the ecu in and a basemap setup to get the car running, drop it off for tuning, and then will be running the polar bear rally on the 18/19th.

So far I've mapped out all of the inputs / outputs from both ECU's, with surprisingly few extra wires needing to be run.

I've rented shop space at a close family friend's place, so will be working on the car indoors, which will be nice.

What could possibly go wrong?

So it begins.......

I'll be posting updates as it happens, I know I need to change my crank sprocket so will be doing a timing belt at the same time it seems, and will need a bunch of other things to get this working right.... Should be fun!

not good. but looks like you got lucky in that it only melted through the rubber overcoat and some of the plastic sheathing.

Also through the Vibrant heat wrap.

Gonna autopsy it later today and do some continuity tests to see if it makes sense to use this loom.
