This is my recently acquired 1999 2.5RS Coupe. It's probably my favorite car I've owned. I bought it with worn valve seals that'll I'll be replacing before it see's any track time. I'll also be doing some minor weight reduction to help with a full roll cage install.

Randy Lam and I could help you out with your swap (Randy has a Impreza L with a EJ20G swap). He's up in Cottonwood Heights and I'm over in South Jordan.

As for a shop, I'd recommend FNP Tuning in bountiful or BH Motorsports in Ogden. Both have done swaps and they're who I go to whenever I need help.

I've actually met randy and he took me for a spin in his ride. If anything i just need help finding an engine swap. I can do all the work my self. And my other concern is just emissions testing around here. Essentially putting a newer jdm swap into an obd1 car. Not sure how that all works around here.

Hey, thanks man!

I learned something today: I have no patience for sitting car parts. If I have them, I install them :screwy:

I installed my VF 39 and the header today. I'll finish up the heat wrap another day. All in all, I think it looks pretty good! I've personally always been a fan of the Equal Length sound; I also love how smooth it makes the car feel.

I picked these up today. Prosport Carbon Hood Dampers. Nothing special, but I've always wanted a set of dampers. They feel pretty solid! And to my surprise, it looks like real carbon rather than a hydrodip

No updates for awhile. I'm taking the girlfriend to Disneyland next month, so I had better start saving for that...

A couple of updates today. I decided to swap my RS Brake Booster/Master Cylinder with a 04 STI combo. I've read a few things about how sloppy Brembos feel if this isn't installed, so I felt this was required. I took a couple of awkward positions, a few extensions and hand bending of the lines to make it work. But all in all, I'm happy with the end result.

While researching this, I noticed there isn't much information on the difference between the RS setup and the STI one, so I took some pictures to show everyone.

This is the inside of the RS Brake booster:

This is the inside of the STI Brake Booster:

Now I saw this metal ring in it. I'm not sure how important this is, so my only guess is that it's important to do the STI Brake booster when you do the STI Master Cylinder install.

The Master Cylinders:

You'll notice the size difference, but also that the nipple is on top for the STI. You can use your stock RS lines for this, you just have to bend the lines. Make sure you are careful because they are metal and you don't want them to collapse.

I also picked up an 02-07 wrx steering rack for cheap. I wanted an 04 STI rack, but this isn't something I could pass up. I paired this with WHITELINE Steering Rack Bushing and WHITELINE Anti Roll Kit.

No updates on the RS, but it was a good day! A famous GF Wagon came into the shop today.

The shop is also testing the new turbo kit for the BRZ by STEAM. I have to say that the quality is top notch! The manifold fit perfect and it came with a bunch of accessories like heatshields, heat wrap and a new MAP sensor.

Time for some updates. Headgasket went out on the girlfriends outback, so I've been dealing with that and not the RS. But, progress is progress!

WRX Subframe/Axels/Swaybar/Knuckles and the STI Aluminum control arms are bolted in.

Next I started to install these goodies. I was told the wrx steering column wouldn't work, but I figured I'd give it a try anyone (it's not like I have anything better to do).

As expected, it didn't fit. For reference, this is the difference between the two. They will have to be cut and merged for this to work:

Next, I ended up picking this sweet 5Zigen GN+ catback from a friend. I'm still waiting for his Tomei to show up, but it will soon be here! I think this will go nicely with my 5Zigen GN+ Wheels. 13254548_10209598648781425_3402399204999166528_n by caden sweeney, on Flickr

Thanks! I try to document the little things for anyone that's curious.

I was in the "trying to figure out what I want to do with my GC8" phase for quite some time as well. First was making a track car, then it was a rwd supercharged drifter, then it was full show car, and now I just want it to run :screwy:.

I had another piece show up today. This is a ARC intake for the GD body style. Previously, I had an ARC intake box for an EJ20g I was going to rig to work. I don't like cutting corners, so I felt that buying the correct part was mandatory. Just another piece to add to my collection!

On a side note, I always laugh at the ARC badge.

Today was an okay day. I got a few parts (good) and managed to snap 5 bolts in half:)drunk:) All of the parts at here though, so I can at least mock everything up and piece it together. Then I just have to ship out my harness to iWire and I'll be set!

Lately I've been getting really drained by this project. I've been losing motivation since I'm more into ascetics than performance. That being said, I decided to buy a little something for myself to help push me through to what hopefully ends up being a running car. Very fitting, since I'm sometimes a dipshit
