Well here it is, my Bucket List Build. Ever since my brother (ChicksDigWagons) put together an OBS-T back in 2002 I've been telling myself I would build a 'GC' before I kicked the bucket.

I live near Marquette, MI which is home to some of the best backwoods roads and trails in the country. The Lake Superior Pro Rally is run about an hour north of me and the purpose of this build is pure rally. I'm not looking to tear up the streets, just get to the trail.

So I'm on the road until at least May 6th. I cut the sensor plugs off of my engine harness and brought them with me so I can create a spreadsheet that tells me what the actual wire color and purpose is in the harness. I intended on packing all my new sensor pigtails but forgot, planning on having my room mate send them to me so I can be 100% prepared to finish the wiring when I get home.

Why is it so hard to find a metal or other high temp material 5/8" x 5/8" x 1/2" T Fitting! I've found HDPE units but their rated temp is only 200* so I don't really want to use it for Turbo coolant underhood.

Does anyone have experience with the Cerakote Heat Dissipating Coatings? I'm thinking about coating my intercooler and intake manifold in it if I find good reviews on it. If I do I'll definitely get some real world data of my IAT both before and after coating.

They have both an Air cure and an Oven cure product.

According to DIYautotune the sensor signal is based on resistance:

What is its resistance vs temperature curve?

If you are connecting this to a device that supports 3 point calibration (all MegaSquirt units do), use these numbers if your device does not have a standard GM temperature sensor calibration curve.
7000 ohms at 48 degrees F

1930 ohms at 87 degrees F

560 ohms at 146 degrees F

So, Terry - You were definitely correct about the throttle cable situation. I will need to figure out a solution to allow the butterfly to close completely.

Also, my JDM GC8 Power Steering pump is not going to work. So I'm definitely in the market for a remote reservoir WRX/STi pump.

Got myself a spare rally wheel!



I also got my throttle cable bracket situation sorted. Chopped it in half and used the cruise side for the skinny pedal connection. Might weld a plate on to support it a little.

Gotten a little bit done. Was off working for 3 weeks and now have more work than I can handle so haven't been able to spend much time in the garage. I also did some serious damage to my foot almost two weeks ago. Still bothering me quite a bit. Vegetables and 1/8" mini jack cable to the rescue!



I did manage to the the Whiteline ALK and Roll-Center kits installed. Took me about 10 minutes to get the hub completely removed.



Word on the street is all this activates more grip, let's hope it's true!

Right now the project I am putting off is swapping my power steering lines. If anyone has any tips and tricks for doing so on a turbo motor I would love to hear them.

Yeah, stock 01 RS steering rack for now. I'd love to figure out a way to flip the RA-Limited rack to work in a RHD configuration but I'm pretty doubtful that's going to happen.

I've about had it with playing power steering games. Fore the records v6 JDM STi and USDM 2.5rs power steering pumps share mounting pattern and pully splines. USDM 04 Sti is completely different.
