Havenít done too much with the cars lately. Still a bit messed up from the accident and they have me off work going to physical therapy and stuff. Hopefully Iíll be going back soon cause I wanna get a built engine together, and that costs money.
Hereís the stuff Iíve done. Plenty of free/cheap/easy stuff to do:
Got a turbo blanket for the Borg. Iím gonna be working on some heat shielding stuff soon, and this was a good place to start.
Finally took off my old, beat up, rally armor flaps. It was time. I think they were the first thing I ever did to the car. Replaced them with the factory mud guard things. Looks a little better I think.
With the warmer weather I was starting to notice warm/hot restart issues.....only certain IAT/Coolant temps....but it was always lean conditions from heatsoak, making a stumbly idle for a short time after restarting.
The factory tables all had a dip in restart fuel right where I was having issues. Adding fuel there seemed to help. Wanna mess with it a little more, but I think Iím on the right track.
Besides that, Iíve had no other speed density drivability issues. Itís been just as easy to drive/tune as my maf set up was. AFRís seem pretty consistent through different temp ranges so far, and fuel trims are right where I like.
Made a lower boost map to hopefully keep the ej205 together for a little longer. 17 psi instead of 20 psi. The built engine got pushed back with what happened, and thereís a trip I wanna take the car on in June.
17 psi should still be around 300whp. Havenít done any work for spool. Just hitting targets for now.
Second graph is just showing boost nice and flat through 3rd and 4th gear.
Also cleaned up an ugly cluster of wires and hoses by the turbo. It was always a mess, but now with the rotated set up it was in the way of the intake. Still wanna clean up more wiring on that side of the engine, but itís better than it was.
Might ditch the bracket that holds the BCS, and just bolt it right to the strut tower.
