I upgraded from the 280's after my second motor melted a piston. Come to find out the waste gate couldn't open, but I had bought DW 650's before finding that out. Sent them off to be cleaned and they averaged 643. At 10 pounds with the 650's I'm between 30-40% DC. 9 pounds sounds too low for 440's, especially since the 280's are said to be good for 5.

George over here making low key turbo noises. Yeah, I was thinking the 280's were good for 7 or 8 if you're happy running them near 100%. I wouldn't do any track days where your WOT a lot, but doing a pull every now and again when that 1.6L vtec bro wants to flex on you probably won't hurt anything. I do not know of these red/silver tops you speak of, they Subaru?
I feel pretty daft for taking this long to figure it out. Air assist is only on for cold start, the solenoid turns off at around 140F coolant temp, this also means I've had the emanage's auto tune feature enabling too soon. Figured that out last week and have been driving it around. Funny how I've built all these motors the same but they all are a bit different as I figure out the tuning. My pops last night said "This sounds better now than it has in years". It's almost to the point I'd trust someone else to drive it!
I know in a previous post I didn't like 0.60ms but that is what I'm currently running, this is also after adjusting the autotune feature to turn on later, as I am still running without the factory O2 sensor plugged in. With 0.70ms I would get 180-200 miles to a tank of gas and the transmission shifted...mushy. At 0.60ms... I haven't had to get gas yet and I'm at 170miles with about 1/3rd remaining and the transmission shifts fast and sharp. It is also over its case of off idle stumbles. Hit the gas and the car takes off! First gear is almost useless and it makes some cool noises on the shift in to the second.
I have a 3psi wastegate, bov spring adjustment is hand tight, and it still builds 8psi. I think the divorced wastegate can't flow enough. I know 8psi should be safe, as I had the last setup running 10 for a few months and that was on a bad tune.
Finally did some data logging. Something weird that isn't new, as I see it in an older data log as well. At idle the timing oscillates between 15 and 20 degrees advance and when I get on throttle it drops to 0 or less, and then seemingly returns to normal until it's back at idle. So really pinging TerryJr or anyone else that might have some insight.. I've replaced the cam, crank, and coolant temp sensors. I'm thinking either Throttle or Knock sensors next..

I'm chasing an intermittent timing retard condition as well. I've got a bad afterfire after coasting, and I think I've narrowed it down to it pulling timing. I need to log more parameters to see what's going on.
