So over the last two nights a few friends and i have been putting in some serious man hours on the now named "slamfu". The first step was to take off the bed which came off with two large 32mm bolts, Unbolted the dump piston, and tried to lift of the bed, but we could not, way to heavy. It took 5 people to lift of the bed. Easily weights 500-600 lbs, but its very top heavy. So the bed is now off and i will be scrapping it.

Next was to give it a good look over. It has a new starter and alternator, everything else looks oem. We emptied the tank, checked for fuel, spark and compression all good to go. Tried to start it up but nothing happened. Drained the oil to find a milky mess, the head gaskets are blown. (which i was told by the previous owner) We poured some atf through it, and dumped some more oil through it, just trying to give it a good flush. We basically called it a night there.

Tonight we cleaned the carb, and got the float un stuck but it still would not turn over, I contacted the previous owner and asked about timing, he said he didnt know what that was so i figured it was off. There were little to no marks on the two pullys so we kinda guessed for TDC and hoped it wasnt a contact motor. After cranking it over by hand we decided it was not and started playing with timing two teeth at a time. After the 3-5 advance we got it to sputter, Kept playing with timing and now she runs! It hold an idle and runs great. Started it up a bunch of times and reved it up, no knock or tick. good to go. We then pulled the head to address the head gasket, I need to have one specially made so thats where we left it for the night, Ill get videos when i get it put back together.

fffffffffffffffffffffffffuck that, don't scrap it! Or if you do, make a semi-useful one out of 1/4in aluminum!

Im not scrapping the bed frame, just the large dump bed, That big backing rack is super heavy and with low HP i need all the weight savings i can get. I was thinking fiber glass wrapped in carbon vinyl or an aluminum bed. Not sure yet

I still want to use it as a truck and be able to haul parts and such, So im keeping a bed but i think ill get rid of the dump function and the heavy back plate. Replace that with a much lighter bed and some roll bars in the back

Im working on it, My phone decided to shit the bed so im stuck with an older version. ill borrow my girlfriends Iphone tomorrow and get some pictures of the motor taken apart, the bed off ect. The next step is to get a head gasket, get the motor back together, and fix the gas pedal. Then drive time, ill make sure i get a vid of the first drive. After that i need to weld up the floors, make a cage, Tires, brake lights, mirrors, fuel cell, get the racing seats in (may have to extend the cab), and mount the harnesses. Then go through a vin and inspection process. Id like to have her on the road by the spring

And yes, he has been a pain.
