I took the trim off because I know Maaco doesn't like to remove things so they just mask them and they don't do a good job masking or sometimes they just paint over anyway

Since I was picking up my freshly painted car today the weather decided it would be a good time to piss rain all day

At least the passenger side was dry inside but uggghhh I wish it wasn't such a mess

It's super dusty inside, all over the dash, the radio, the floor, the seats and it smells

The shoe prints on my Recaros I don't understand and they make me mad

The moulding delete looks really good though, feels smooth and just improves the look of the car as a whole

I can't get a really good look because of the rain but it looks just as smooth as any other spot on the car, can't wait to see it dry

When I spoke to the owner he said it would be $300 to "weld" up the door holes, not gonna pretend I'm an expert welder but this looks like not a weld

The corners of the hood look really good, flattened out nicely but the top edge of the hood I think made contact with the plastic covering the engine while it was still wet

I only had 2 bolts in the fenders and they still didn't take them off to paint

Got everything back on that it needed to keep the water out, overall I'm pretty happy with the job they did. Once the car is dry I will be able to give a better opinion and although I'm finding a lot of stuff that pisses me off I did expect it and for the money I spent I think I got what I paid for. Not trying to bash Maaco or be that guy that cries about his Maaco paint job lol

Rain is good for a freshly painted car. It cures the paint.

if they taped and bondo'd over those holes for the mould delete when they said they would weld them.. yeah.. i'd go back in and bitch until you get a FULL refund for that work.

That being said, mad jealous of the mould delete and the car looks great

How did you do those dings? I have so many that look exactly like that.

Maaco quoted me $1,300 to fill the body side molding holes, wtf haha. I'm essentially doing the same thing you are; removing anything and everything to make it simpler for them. I'm definitely nervous about it, but researched all the Maaco locations and chose the best one.

That said, despite the rain it looks like a good job. Your interior is filthy though! I'll have to tell them to throw plastic sheets over everything haha.

I had the same issue with my rear window.
You have a broken defroster line

I tried the simple/cheap fix with the adhesive filler but I pony'd up for a new rear window for $250 and I am glad I did? Works like it's brand new

I had the holes on the side of my car welded up just like that. I didn't go through maaco, went through a guy I know, so I didn't bother double checking. I did see 1 filled like that on my car however when putting it all back together.

If I was you I would mess with it to see if it comes out. Good Luck! Cars lookin' great!

I used a local pdr shop to take out all the dings and it was a little pricey but they got it totally smooth. I'm gonna get a new rear window, checked it out closer and looks like the lines were already repaired or attempted repair that failed rather. Finally got some better weather and put the body back together

I tried to put the flat fuel door on, tried to swap the plastic piece on the metal one that prevents it from locking completely but it's not gonna work like that

Took it to the car wash today to get a good look at the paint finally

I'm going to hold off on the roof trim until I get new glass put in

There's definitely some orange peel but not too concerned since it's going to be dirty most of the time anyway

It's just so nice to have it all one color again

The moulding delete looks great, regardless of how they did it

Still need to install the flaps and spats to get it looking right

I'm hoping a good coat of wax will smooth it out and bring some more shine

Just need the STi fog decals to get the front right

The bumper repair looks acceptable, not perfect but for $80 I'm not gonna complain
