Got some more motor work done for the Forester with the help of Gamblor and PMMJKL on Saturday.

Four matching plugs!

The fresh short block new clutch, some other goodies:

I believe I figured out what the sealant nose came off of:

My guess is he was trying to seal the half moon or something and lost the tip in there. That's the only thing I can guess. Or he just genuinely left it in there when putting the valve covers on.

Heads are on:

Timing set, almost ready to go!

I definitely didn't end up with something as awesome as a laser equipped shark...

Last night we prepared to get the engine buttoned up and put in, only to find that it has an EJ205 oil pan on it. That won't fit over the Killer B oil pickup I bought for the new motor, so there's another setback.

No kidding. I'm also kind of confused as to how/why an EJ205 oil pan ended up on this motor in the first place.

Oh really? That's good to know... Killer B advertised their pickup as compatible with all EJ25 turbo motors on Rallysport Direct.

Joshua, I don't suppose you can confirm if your oil pan looks like this?

And here's the cool pickup that won't fit:
