Plasti Dipped hood.

In the garage for paint

I am one of those people that thinks if you are going to do something then do it right. So i got my buddy who used to be a professional painter, doing houses and shit and we set to work.

Sanded the shit out of the old paint, it had been painted at least four times and there were imperfections all over the place.

After about four different grits of paper we washed it off with a hose and let it dry. After it dried we sprayed it with rubbing alcohol and wiped it down good.

Then we took it into his garage and set it up like you see. It took us 12 coats to get the coverage we needed, but it ended up looking great. Especially since we did it with cans, about 5-6 of them. Gonna get a paint gun and try a whole car next. My buddy really enjoyed it so maybe we can start doing it for others as well.

Default Injen Ganz Flow Style CAI

Here is the injen I picked up from a member on the forums.

I probably wouldn't pay full price for it, but for 100 bucks I figured what the hell.

Notice it is for a map system.

I cut off about 4-5 inches and had to buy some new hose couplers but I got it working.

It was a damn tight fit, because on my 1.8 the hole for the intake is tiny. Out came the saws all. You press the button on it once and it cuts through five inches of steel. Had to be extra careful.

Injen knows how to make an intake, the build quality is great and they also include an extra hole with a grommet to fill it.

The hole is now all ghetto looking but I am going to clean it up and edge it this weekend if I get some time.

The fit was ludicrously tight where the filter goes. I did get the plastic fender liner up and over though.

First thoughts:
Loud as hell, the fender acts like a resonation chamber. Not an annoying loud though.

Haven't reset the ECU yet so not too sure about the performance changes. So far it seems better as far as throttle and hesitation are concerned. Will update more after I do the reset.

I almost did this. I even bought the intake on here, then the seller was way cool and re-funded me when I asked to back out, because I did not want to cut up a nice maf intake LOL

You mean map intake right? The way I cut it, it would be easy to fix it. I still have the 5 inch section I cut off and with 2 couplers it would be good to roll as a map intake. Might even be better cause with the couplers you could maneuver it easier. I made damn sure to get it right the first time I cut so that I would not have to keep cutting it and possibly ruin it.

Now its a maf/map intake! Better than before!

Got my struts set up nicely. Went for a drive on a twisty mountain pass. Have yet to find the limits of the traction. It seems to grip and then grip some more. I did have a nice fading drum brake problem and I am pretty sure my front rotors are warped but it was extremely fun.

Thinking about a 95 jdm ej swap but gas would be a bitch.

Got plenty of time to debate it. Need to get the shell up to snuff.
