orig 28,000kms 17398.miles. weight is 910kg 2002lb car !!

the parts car for awd and 5x100 86 xt6

so what we have hear is to add the 4WD system into one of these cars, those are 20MM sway bars, above the sway bars is what holds the diff, about that is a mix and match of old and new to hold the STi 6mt, above that is a updated version of control arms to hold the 5x100 knuckle.

rear axle XT6 for the R180 3.900, there is a trick to these where i mix the outer with the new style inners to run a R180. or i could just stay light weight and put a R160 in it.

cusco motor tranny mnt

ARP head studs, Cam & Crank sensor new oem

Spare EJ22T Built @ SUBARU TECNICO INTERNATIONAL

just got a little eye candy from Jon at full race coming soon !!

Well got half the brakes sorted out for the project

so got a little oem new parts in today xt6 wheel bearings, xt6 steering tie rod, mustache bar bushings, and new diff support. also have 2006 wrx 2pot rear backing plates, but i sent them out to a friend's machine shop to make a ring for the centering ring

new turbo set up full race twin scroll

so parts list is
VER 8 Sti complete
Vi-PEC V88
EXEDY ?? dont know yet maybe multi plate to hold the power
SPARCO seats: maybe, kind of want it stock but need support lol
Rims: gc8 and volk jdm if i can find them
Tire's : RACE SLICK lol for evey day haha !!
new rotor pads that wont stop this much power to weight lol

my rear control arms, that me and my dad had to make a tool becuase no one on the plant has one lol

little thermal coat so then i can wrap them

got some tubes to make my wastegate pipes longer away from everything

Little powder coat action

Got my 2006 wrx backing plates all fixed up so they can fit on the hub the xt6 hubs as instructed from Suberdave !

So I went and picked up a Jdm spec c version 8 (maybe type RA?) motor swap Ej207DW7ER TY856WB6JA for heads and tranny diff and way ever else I need to twist my leone in to pretzel lol

Also I was driving to see the boys at Nvauto and I seen a gc impreza on top of another car scrap yard ! so I found the rims I wanted for a steal 250. So I sent them out to the sand blasters to get ready for the powder coating. I'm thinking world rally blue color for the rims

started stripping for what i need

SUBARU TECNICO INTERNATIONAL
EJ22T built bottom end, JDM EJ207 STi Version 8 Type RA heads all oem !

finished wrapping my headers and turbo

and got my PURPLE KUSH rims back from the powder coaters, two more sets to do with other crazy colours

Bosch 044 fuel pump, need some angle fitting and done.

rear mustache bar is ready to hold the R180 just need to make a bracket for the front of the diff and done.

my hsd front camber plates came in ! thank you JRP for letting me do what i had to do to get my suspension all sorted out !!.

the front is a bit to low, which will come up after corner balance and aliment get worked out. i wouldnt want the honda crowd thinking i want to race lol.

i didnt want to add this but i need a bigger opening or else i could not use 2nd 4th 6th or R gear !.. so STi plate with boot, just waiting for the bolts to come in now.

injector dynamics 1000cc

install all goods

Franz amazing harness. swapped the avcs from passenger side to drivers side, then all in one plug... + add boost controller plug, oil pressure, fuel pressure.

Vi-Pec V88, and my mod case mount to make it sit in the factory spot like oem that i did.

fits like a glove

fits right where subaru put the original oem 1986

here we have the shifter mount, its a mix of 1986 sway bar bushing rubber and good old fashioned father steal bending and welding. ! lol its so simple but yet feels so right when shifting.

then we had to fix the rear sway bar mount points, thanks to the great Canadian salt we use for our roads, it destroyed the tabs to hold my mounts.

way it should look with a tab, but not a hole in the middle !

so once again my father came up with these, we made these tabs which is nice and thick to last 50years. once you weld them over paint and done.

oem 86 XT6 20MM sway bar

1986 GL-10 Turbo Filter looks way better made then the new style.

so we are pretty much done under the hood, add battery, couple water lines for cooler and done.

that thing beside the brake master need to be in the car for my heater control's to work vac system. so i used a new style fuel filter holder and bolted it up and it works perfect nice and clean.

and while i was board i cut out the spare cap i have for the Extra S gear oil i had, and stuck it on the top of the cap for the water cooler.

as of now we are pretty much ready to start it up but !! tomorrow my drive shaft shop shaft will be in. then im just waiting on my water coolers for my intercoolers.

well it came in !!

Drive Shaft Shop one piece aluminum prop shaft.

man o man is this thing so light weight. so they told me its 4" inch shorter then a STi shaft. which means even more less weight & 4" inch shorter wheel base.

so now just AWIC coolers on back order some time this week or next & weld up my exhaust + muffler + tip & my twin scroll dump tubes.

then we start her up ! next week we drive it.

well Franz helped set the car up making sure everything was up and working checking over all system a go !! no joke.. the internet is a amazing think, plugged her up via internet next i know he is turning on fans, fuel pump, injectors and so on !

VIDEO no exhaust

VIDEO with exhaust

exhaust

dump pipes

so i got my alignment & corner balance done ! thanks to everyone @ NVauto for the great job well done and it feels amazing now..

so the muffler on the car is really shitty sounding like raspy fart can that is so loud. it makes the car look and sound like garboo !

Franz gave me a link to some mad muffler people that don't F around in this department in building a car ! its not cheap but it sure is for life. these exhaust open up, when it wears out then you buy a new core. its high quality no messing around shit ! o and its light weight good god !! this italian salami weights more then the muffler

Aerospace Hardware & Fasteners

my 2x ealr's coolers for my awic system that will be put in once the water reservoir comes in.

and my father made me a nice aluminm battery bracket to make space for the intercooler water tank. battery is on the strut tower wall now like a boss.

maybe a aim cluster ???? (mount it in the glove box) but so i can watch EVERY SINGLE thing going on in the motor section lol right Dov lol.

fits nice if i do get it.

well water box is in, its so well made its crazy to put it in there but it must.

gave Donny the inch and boom he makes it up fast quick and pressure tested.

Dad's Custom Intercooler Tanks

well Franz has come and gone and it was a busy time while he was here. i had a couple problems that i need to fix to make it work right. so i could not get my dyno time :(

My grocery list !

1... i need to cut vents in the hood because this subaru intake temps are way to hot ! :firedevil:

2... i need to make a safety strap on the drive shaft, also add a little better support on the rear diff so it does not end up on the tarmac !

3.... move my water coolers in a better place

what we have now is a 17psi road tune that to be honest is just crazy to even go to 25psi how fast this car is right now. i am kind of glad i didn't get all the power at once its a tricky car to drive that's for sure.

once i fix the problems then 25psi dyno tune will be done, ill push for the end of the season but no promise its getting late and the car needs to be put away soon.

Franz pictures

so in order to lower my intake temps with out cutting my hood i sacrificed my a/c system :( .

by getting rid of the a/c system i gained just about 20 degrees off the 60 degree iat temp, out side temp is 20 degree.

i just could not cut the hood with out trying the last step, a massive awic cooler (26x7x2). if this does not cool my intake then i am busting the saw out and going to town on the stock hood or the brand new OEM one i have laying around that i picked up for this problem.

so as of now car runs good at 17psi i am a drifter out of control with awd lol. my gas tank sprung a leak do to the vent line sensor not working should have un plugged it like i did for my legacy ! instead it split it self down the side of the tank like a pop can.

a new OEM subaru one is on its way so i can put more then 10bucks in the car and make my way to see Franz and get it tuned on the dyno by the end of this fall weather.

so i went to Washington D.C to visit Franz and he did a little work on the car and he took me to see the crazy city which is just amazing to see and i cant wait to go back for part 2 of the city !!

Abraham Lincoln says hello

Franz's one of a billion cool tool's he owns !

my leone getting all its numbers crunched to perfection !

little vid

franz made me a new shorter pipe from scratch in a matter of minutes, and he gave me the fancy clamps to hold it right. we also put in oil temp, oil pressure, fuel pressure sensors to watch whats going and everything is good !

so much went down this week here is some extra pics from the dyno session, the guys at IMA Motorsports know there Porsche's it was Porsche heaven, i was sourounded buy flat six's with huge turbos making stupid power every where i looked such nice people at IMA Motorsports !

all these porsche made me think why am i messing with this four bangger when subaru made the best six which is a ej22 with a extra 2 lol.

franz baby

LOL my mamma's car hahahha

le mans

i need to make this stand or buy one like this, need like 10 of them lol

so i got my STi coupler in

and i am building the air oil separator system witch i can put in soon once my plastic fittings come in

mann hummel provent 200 and i welded a nipple for the drain back on my stock dip stick tube. you need a one way valve and i got high temp o rings for the provent 200 lid.

the hose is a bmw 1990 325 6 hose witch has a step in it the same size as the provent 200.

My OLD baby !!!

lol thanks

This build rules, and so does that book. Thank you for contributing something fresh and inspiring, I like your take on modifying a Leone!
thank you, at first i was not going to do it but then i had a buyer for my 1993 legacy turbo after fully building that one from the ground up, i kind of didnt want to sell it legacycentral bbs • View topic - Nico's 93 Legacy Turbo

motor set up is all most the same as the legacy but with a twist becuase of room issuse in the leone, but it turned out really well with out cutting a single thing. the only thing i will miss is the a/c, which i got to work with the new style pump.

May I ask, without being rude.. what do you do for a living?

All I could think about was how expensive this all was... maybe you can toss us a rough estimate on the cost?

Edit; showed my friend this build.. he was curious if you'd be so kind to spare him a AIM cluster for his home built Subaru RS race car, if it's any more persuasion.. he holds 4 track records. :)

i really dont know how much it cost but i built it all this summer with the help of my father. i think i started in july and its all most done i guess.

i been collecting subaru parts and cars for a very long time now and made the legacy which took allot to do. so i sold that to fund the leone build.

the aim is not mine yet maybe next year if i cant fnd a clean nice way to mount a screen to view all that is going on in the motor.

Send the pic with the car in front of the graffiti to Car of the Month, you'll win handily.

How is the weight distribution with the 6MT and EJ? How nose heavy does it get, and have you tracked this yet?

One of the cleanest Subarus on the forum. Let alone one of the oldest ones...

lol maybe will see, but the weight is not bad with everything and me full tank 2700lbs. corner balance was amazing becuase it was 60front 40rear, the car is really short 4inch length at 2inch wide less then any impreza gc8

track will be next year i been building this since july and just finshed right for winter which sucks so next year its takeing a beating lol.

so my us-plastic stuff has come in and its time to put in my provent 200 & got a little reservoir for the AWIC set up and it works perfect.

here we have it all put together and ready to rock.

made some brackets out of rod aluminum to hold it in place and its working perfect, oil is being seperated and dumped back the right way.

also used my factory coolant reservoir and re mounted it to the strut top with a nice aluminum plate. the AWIC reservoir fits perfect in that little corner and its working perfect.

Wow. Just wow.

Every single little thing about that car is incredible. I think just about everybody can respect what you've built. Whether they be power junkies, stance dudes, rally go-ers, anybody really!

There's just so much awesome here. Great work.
