Walbro 255 Fuel Pump

So last week I noticed some very off fueling, mostly by accident, car didn't really run poorly or anything weird. I did have a bit of learned knock, but it was like 2 degrees so meh. After doing a log my fueling target was no where near my actual fueling, think 13.5:1 bad at WOT at high RPM.

When I saw this my head immediately screamed "fuel pump is dead" but I wanted to be sure of myself because I didn't notice any of the typical dead fuel pump symptoms.

I went out and did another log at half throttle, trying to maintain 7psi of boost, and what I saw was that it really didn't deviate from the specific target until the IDC was about ~ 60%. Hmm... definitely seemed like a fuel pump to me.

Decided to get the cheapest and proven golden standard Walbro. $75 later and an hour and we are back on our fueling target without even thinking about it.

And pictures of the pump.

Was also nice to replace the old hose with some proper fuel line hose too.

She works goooooood! Also cleared up my learned knock, so hey... I guess that means I can add more !

Equinox, you have done an excellent job on the car. I've been following your thread for a while and its given me a lot of ideas about how I want to progress with my car. What is your opinion on the EJ207 v8 motor? I'll be looking into an engine swap in a year or two and I've been debating between v7 for its rumble and v8/9 for twinscroll and relative newness.

Got this guy working this afternoon. Need to do a bit more stuff on the software side, and make a case for it to mount it using a gopro/phone mount

Did you get submersible fuel hose? Most of the fuel hose isn't rated to be submerged.

Ran down to my dad's work to pick up some equipment today..

The equipment was SUPPOSED to allow me to get my new Ohlins on, however ran into some issues reusing the old Ohlins parts on the new ones... that's not gonna fit!

So I put the old coilover back on and decided to weigh the car anyways.

Comes out to be 2963lbs, which is only 33lbs over the weight I measured with the 5 speed. NEAT!

Nevermind the weight balance, that was SUPPOSED to be changed, but really shows how unbalanced these cars are.. over 60% front.. yikes.

Right now I am after some "pillow ball nuts" that work with a 20mm ID spherical bearing, and an M12x1.25 strut... if I can't find anything soon, I'll just give in and buy new camber plates so that everything is ready to go.
