Exactly my thinking. I can't justify going with UEL and leaving power on the table when for the same price you can get EL headers. I went with the OBX (4-1) EL headers for my build.

Little River Dragway

My buddy Darik S. blowing up his rear. He's got an STi 6-speed swap but using a WRX rear diff. He had super sticky tires and I guess it blew up.

As you can see, he almost got me. He was faster in the 1/8th but I beat him off the line and had AWD to help me pull harder. BTW, this was my first run in almost 6 years.

Something really weird happened on my way to work last night. Car started fine like always. Turned on the tunes and drove about 3 minutes down the road and noticed the sound was cutting in and out, the stereo was still on and playing but the sound was coming and going. Then I noticed my gauge cluster had a slow and consistent dimming to it. I drove the rest of the way to work like this and took this video in the parking lot. I could hear the fuel pump making noises as well as the lights were flickering.

I checked the battery voltage the next morning with my scangauge and it read: 12.2 vlts

Then I started her right up no problems and the voltage read: 13.9 vlts and it went up slightly to around 14.1 vlts from there.

Could I have a bad alternator or was this some kind of random wiring issue? This has never happened to me before.

Check the grounds on the car and make sure the battery terminals are tight. My negative terminal was loose once and was doing the same thing, shutting off while driving.

Yeah, that would be my first thought as well. After that I would suspect the alternator and then battery.

So, I haven't had the problem since. Could it be possible that it was some random fluke?

I checked all connections: all battery, alternator and ground cables.

Could it be possible that if I have a aging fuel pump that it would pull more power, thus making the lights dim like that. It was a constant dimming. I've noticed my fuel pump is getting louder but I have also noticed that my alternator is also whining a lot more lately. I can hear it from the outside when I drive. I'm just throwing some **** out there, haha.
