Older:
My name is Chris and I have been on here since 2004, but didn't sign up til 2006

I have a 2000 Silverthorn metallic 2dr 2.5RS. I am the 2nd owner of this car and purchased it from Anchorage, Alaska back in 2005. I searched for a 2dr 2.5RS for a year and a half and finally settled with this one because it only had 42k miles on it. I hope you enjoy the progress of this car (5years) because I love it and it is really fun to drive :) No shop has ever worked on this car. I did everything myself from the engine build, to the hid retrofits, to custom fabricating brackets and odds and ends to make this car what it is. I don't have a garage and work in the street in front of my house in the snow, rain, and sun (if im lucky :)). My kitchen is my workshop and more car modding gets done in there than cooking haha ;)

I would like to dedicate this build to all the people who have gone RS-T and not done the swap. It is not a route for everyone, but those of you who have succeded with building an RS-T know its so worth it. One thing I hate about forums is the negativity to new ideas or ideas that are not what everyone else is doing - I have posted some ideas several times and been shot down, so it has discouraged me from sharing my findings, but I figure now is the time to let you guys see what I've been working on. I wish i had a dollar for every post I've seen that says "omg just another reason to do a swap" or "my experience with RS-T sucked, don't do it" ....you guys know who you are. So on with the show!!!

Here is a random assortment of recent pics (stuff changes almost daily right now so all these are slightly dated):

I removed the stock oil pressure gauge and installed my oil feed line out of it. Depends on the turbo, but you can get a custom hose manf. shop to make it for you. I used evco house of hose, but its up to you.

Can't believe I've never seen this car!! It's soo sick man from the outside to the inside it's so slick...damn I'm honestly jealous :(
How's the turbo'd n/a engine I'm on the fence about turbo/sc or keeping it n/a
turbo is ftw - but rs-t isn't for the faint of heart. It takes a lot of tweaking to get it to work right, and you better be ready to go standalone (hydra) or greddy emanage ultimate.

how hard were they to make
they weren't very hard. Just search HID retrofit on ebay and purchase some used headlights from your car of choice and retrofit them into the RS headlight. More info is available on this forum about retrofit headlights. Also look at lightwerks if you want to buy this service/have them make it for you. (costs a lot more $$$ tho if you go through Lightwerks instead of doing it yourself)

well after being rs-t since 2006, i have decided to do a full sti swap. I think i have max'd out the capabilities of the emanage ultimate and i did not have enough control over the engine. I am doing an 04 sti swap but keeping the greddy 25g turbo. I will be tuning with cobb accessport and am expecting much more power just because of the tuning capabilities of the ecu and AVCS.

All of my RS-T components are for sale including the emanage with all the sensors and my maps, the entire engine including my custom polished and flipped intake manifold, fully built block, and turbo heads....etc etc. hit me up if you are interested.

keep a look out for the upcoming swap and info. And for anyone considering going down the RS-T path, my advice is if your goal is 300hp or less you can do it okay, but its not worth the hassle these days with all the options that werent available when i went RS-t. i think RS-t is a dying trend because it is NOT a cost effective or reliable way to make good power.
