im swap my car to manual. a friend of mine gave me his pedal box out of his 06 STi. i looks like it should bolt right in but it was a little bit of a pain to get it in and when i finally got it in the 3 bolts the go in the top dont line up right (the 2 over the brake are about a 1/8" off and the one that goes over the clutch master linkage is off by a lot. i was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem and if they were able to modify something to make it fit better.

Ok, so I dont have a RS, But im In the works of putting parts together for a 2.5/5mt swap into my 99 Impreza L. My car should be a bit easier, no cruise or ABS to worry about. But one thing Ive had trouble getting a clear answer on is rear CV shafts. For my Impreza, napa list rears for auto or manual. So If I swap to the matching 5mt rear diff, do I have to replace my rear CVs?

You only need to swap your rear diff if the trans you're getting won't match the your current rear diff's final drive (4.11).

Keep your CV shafts. All of them. You'd only need to change the drive shaft when you swap.

Thanks. I'm hoping to find a manual with the same gear ratios, less parts to buy. And If I dont have to buy CV's even if I change the diff, thats good.

You need ground the at/mt id pin at the ecu.

I usually pull the pin out of the at diagnosis locataion, since it's not needed anymore and move it over to the at/mt id location and ground the wire.

That'll fix you up.

i have a 98RS with an auto to manual swap. i spliced in the neutral and reverse switches and the car starts fine. my problem is that i have a high idle. i tried searching this thread but only got back one post with a high idle and there wasnt anything helpful in it. has anyone else run in to this problem or does anyone have an idea of what it might be?
